Ironman Suspension experiences?

Hola, looking for any experiences with ironman suspension? My guy is super high on them and suggested installing their lift kit in my '19 Tundra. I'm in the process of getting new wheels/tires and was looking for a good 3" lift. He's suggesting the ironman kit. This guy has 40 years experience in suspensions/off-roading, so his opinion carries a little weight with me, but just wanted others opinions.

From my research it looks like they're big in Australia for overlanding, but not so much in the US. Looks to be something geared toward Toyota's and their Australia counterparts.

 

Never heard of it. Just be sure your lifting with shocks and not urinal cakes, I mean spacers. LOL Just my 2 cents

I do like those shackle bolts and their diff breather.

 

If you’re in the USA I would stick with an America based company. If you need any warranty/service stuff it would likely be simpler to not deal international

I have them. They've been fantastic so far and look great.

 

Ivan "Ironman" Stewart was a Toyota off-road racing legend in the '70's and '80's.

 

I know who Ivan is - just never heard of this suspension- lol

Also interested in these. Trying to decide between ironman/ome/ dobinsons. I've had ome on my fj60 and 1st gen tundra. They were a little stiff, but rode well. Have read dob's and ironman ride softer.

These have made the short list with dobinsons.

 

I've never used Iron Man, but I've heard only great things. I run Dobinson's on my 4runner and the ride is fantastic both on and offroad. I think the Aussie's really know what they're doing when it comes to suspension.

 

I think most people who swear by OME haven’t had anything else, it is very stiff. I’ve had OME, Tough Dog, Bilstein 5100 and Fox 2.0. Tough Dog would be my first choice but none in the country right now and Trail Tailor isn’t sure when the next order will be here. My buddy has Dobinson and I’ve driven his truck and the ride is great so that’s what I went with, should be installing next weekend.

I was going to try the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo but best I could find it would cost about $250 more. As much as I like Bilstein I’ve had enough of them that leaked within 30k miles and their warranty is terrible.

 

I talked to Mike as well. But, the 2.25" springs from Dobinsons are out until the end of May.

 

Interested to see pictures when you install it. What diameter shocks are these? Interested in the kit as well.

I had Fox on a 100 series landcruiser, in 2 years I had the rear shocks rebuilt twice. On a daily driver I don't think I would get something that needs rebuilding again, I would stick with OME, Dobinsons or Ironman. These forums have a way of making a guy go way overboard and spending money on parts that are not needed.

 

This thread should come back...but I agree, there is so much OVERBUILD. And I'm not knocking if someone wants to blow money. But very few people need reservoir shocks. Are there people on here that do, absolutely yes. But...as Americans, our fatal flaw is THE BEST at all costs. Not the best for what we need at the time. Believe me, I'd love to throw kings on this thing and roll with billet UCAs, deaver leafs and the whole deal. I off-road, I hunt, love on a farm with trails, hit the beach and look for some places to hit the dirt. But....I'm not west of the Mississippi, so...were limited with God's country whoops and rocks out here. The other thing...as Americans, feel FREE to do whatever you want with your money. Seems to me like Ironman is offering a heck of a deal to get you VERY well suited and may just put me in more lot than I need too.

I used IM4x4 on my Tacoma for a number of years. I traded for a Tundra 2 years ago and just haven't found the time or money to throw them onto this truck... but when the time comes, I will. Great value, amazing customer service (had an install issue that they rectified even though they didn't install it). The TW crowd has a lot of great things to say about them, as do all the Land Cruiser and FJ people that use the lifts. They are nothing short of amazing
