I bought a truck almost year ago, and have had an "on/off" switch just below my steering wheel there that I didn't know what it went to for the longest time. It's clearly aftermarket, and it didn't seem to do anything. I just assumed it was to a light bar or something that the previous owner took off.
Today I was already in the area (working on the parking brake) so I followed the wires, and it went to the thing in the picture. I have no idea what this is, other than wondering if I have a remote start installed without ever getting a fob.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Can I get a remote start setup for the cost of a FOB? If so, how do I go about that, and what's the point of an "on/off" switch for a remote start? Or does this go to something else?IMG_3763.jpg

I had the same thing happen on a truck I bought about 10 years ago. I went to one of my local auto stereo/alarm seller and they set me up with a FOB and synced it to the box for under a $100. The switch is probably for valet mode.

Im not sure you need a fob... It looks like it was made in Canada. I am sure there is just a code phrase to get it to work like "Tim Hortons" or "Go Maple Leafs":canada:
