Welcome from Houston! I just joined myself. Got my Tundra from TX Direct Auto in Stafford for a decent deal, the best part of the deal was what they gave me for my 2014 Tacoma.

 

I agree, take your trade into Tx Auto Direct. There are a couple of locations around Houston for appraisal but only one location for car buying. Get a cash price for your trade in from them and use it for the negotiating your trade in when you find your tundra. I was going to buy from them but ended up buying from Fort Bend Toyota. I got the same offer for my trade as if I would have sold it to Tx. Auto Direct. I bought a 2019 4x4 tundra at used price with 700 miles on it at Fort Bend for the same price I would have bought a 2018 4x4 with 30k at Stafford. So if your not in a hurry shop around you will find a deal you can't pass up. Good luck.

That said, since I don't drive my truck a whole lot, a little part of me wishes I had picked up an older, lower mileage gen 2 and saved a wad of cash.

I ended up pissing off Toyota of Victoria. They don’t want to deal with me lol
I’m trying my luck a few other places. Took a few pointers from a sticky someone posted about how to go about this.

If you got the time, take it to Tx Direct Auto and have them give you a cash offer or trade in offer for your truck. They will give you a print out with an offer good for 10 days or 500 miles. It was the best thing I could have done since it gave me an amount of what to get for my trade in. It took about 4 months to find one with the bench seat up front used. Another thing since we live in Houston and our traffic is the best call ahead to make sure the truck is what it says. I live in Kingwood drove to Jersey city for a 2wheel drive truck, I was heated. Online it was 4x4 but in person nope! Lastly, I used CarGurus to find my truck, but it doesn't update as fast if a truck has sold. Spent a lot of time driving to Spring, Katy, Tomball for trucks that just where not there. I also searched dealerships like Honda or Mazda you can find a good deal there to since they are more on the car side of thing if your looking for used.

Spec wise, the F150 was one of the trucks I was going for due to payload and towing. I pull my camper a lot especially during the summer months. I did a run in the tundra and couldn't be happier. The gear ratio is higher than my old titan, it shifts good. A little better gas mileage pulling than the titan. Again good luck.

Fyi, list the price without TT&L, it varies state to state.
Also, maybe check Truecar. Com for comparison and rebates/offers.

 

Just checked it out. Really close. Cheaper actually.
Had another dealer call me back and beat the price I mentioned earlier by a few hundred dollars.
I’ll be going Sunday to do the deal.
Hopefully they don’t screw me with my trade.

Welcome from Michigan. I hope you find a beautiful example in the color of your choice. My only warning is if you buy the Tundra be prepared to spend a lot of money once the modification bug kicks in to individualize your truck to your personal taste. I highly recommend supercharging it right out of the gate. Its is the best mod..........
