Thanks, mine just came in a strip with tighter spacing than the tailgate letters. So if I cut them individually do I just pull the backing and align each letter in the stamped letter indent? My concern is that they all line up. Do you do a snap line for the letters to square up with or does aligning them individually within each letter stamping do the job as far as overall alignment?

Thanks! Hate to do it and have it look misaligned.

Mine aligned pretty naturally, I just went slowly and made sure they were lined up before pressing them in.

Here is Matte Black on black.

Align individually. Just make sure you keep them centered vertically and horizontally within the openings. Eyeballing is fine

Thanks all for install guidance. Nice job on the red letters. I may bring mine inside for the job also. Here's a pic of how the letters I have are configured. Each letter has a cutout around it for the backing adhesive. No instructions provided so again, thanks for the guidance, prefer not to screw it up and probably just overthinking it. I'll be installing individually and lining up centered top to bottom, side to side, equally spaced.

Those seem like the bigger ones like Chris has a few posts above. I don't think there's a lot of extra room for them to get crooked on you if you take your time. Also be sure to clean the recesses really good with some rubbing alcohol before applying. Good luck.

Cut them out while leaving the backing and a smal piece to grab and peel off when ready to place. Test fit the pieces so you see how it should look. Then like @TILLY said clean the tailgate and then clean with alcohol before applying. Its rather simple once you see them lined up in their correct spot prior to applying.

The raised lettering looks real sharp. You guys know any place that sells them in camo?

Well, I went and did it and it turned out great for the look I wanted. Thanks for the tips.
Going for a silver/gray/stainless/chrome mix look and this balanced out the 4x4 lettering on the tailgate. Sorry Chrome haters, hate away!
Oh yeah, remind me to remove that dealer sticker, yuk!
