Ruined my day. :infantry: I freeking can't believe this, but it can happen. :crapstorm: Timing Belt Job is now complete. Sorry no pics, but not much to see except what was left of mice. :worthless: It all started back in November, check engine light comes on, then 2 days later no start but cranks. Pulled the code, CAM sensor. So ordered one, but at this time my Father just passed away so I let sit there, just not in the mood. :( So finally put the sensor in after Xmas. :santa:Started right up but noticed it wasn't running so smooth. Went for test drive, now check engine light is flashing. :frusty: :censored:@##%$%^%^$^&&*$@ and :censored:@$%^$$#^&^^@@#%%:censored: So pulled codes. Multiple mis-fire, cylinders 2,4,6,8. Did I mention when doing the CAM sensor I noticed a mice nest in my timing cover. :monocle: I couldn't remove it, so left cover off and let the engine blow the debris out. :bananadead: So removed right side timing cover, and even though the left side had the mis-fire, the right side was 2 teeth off. The belt still had 30k to go, but I had no record of what parts I put in when I first did the job, I think it was just a belt, so just to be safe all new parts.:spending: Water pump, tensioner, and bearings, all from Aisin who is the original manufacture for Toyota just so you all know. What the hell are these mice made of. :benchpress: and people thought I was crazy. :goingcrazy:  Well all is good now. :bananadance: :mudding::cheers:

What is all that other shit on the right? And how did you manage to keep all that from falling down into the engine?

Maybe instead of using soy base wire coverings they need to make it with poison and kill the little bastards.

Yup, and rat shit. I VERY carefully shoved shop towels in the runners then went to town with a shop vac. After that I did a little degreaser and a brush.

Could be worse, a rat chewed through the body harness on a highly famous football players Ferrari who lives here last week which deemed it a total loss by the insurance company as the replacement harness is $247,398 and labor to install calls for 213 hours to install it. I got an earful over it.

Yea I've seen mice do all kinds of things, and get in all sorts of places, but to actually jump a vehicles timing is a first for me, but my search online shows I'm not the only one. :pccoffee:
