    2006 tundra double cab, 2014 Cummins 6-speed manual
    New to tundras but not new to Toyota’s. Going Monday to look at 06 crew cab w/ 121k on the clock. The truck is a good southern truck that spent its life in east Texas and Georgia. I live in northwest Ga but work in Terra Hoate Indiana as a traveling lineman . Anyways I’m scared to death of rust and doin research on rust prevention.

    does fluid film work and average cost to have a truck done? If I get the tundra I’ll want it done and my flatbed Cummins will need it too

    Had a 4Runner, 2 1st gen tacos, and 2nd gen taco. Looking forward to the tundra.

    Just coated under carriage with woolwax -same stuff and same company as fluid film but thicker and longer lasting they say ????

    This is my first application on 18’ tundra
    Hope it’s as advertised !!
    We’ll see

    Bought gallon bundle with pro- sprayer and 1 spray can and couple of different nozzles
    $160 Amazon - only used 1/2 gallon so good for two years worth - my buddy let me use his lift LUCKILY !!

    Unless you really sand, sand, sand and then prime the frame... I don’t think I’d put fluid film on it at this point. Keep in mind I live in the rust belt and I’ve seen some nightmares from Ziebart and other products sprayed on used trucks in these parts... not too familiar with southern trucks tho. Around here, us old school guys spray regular motor oil on or the really old timers use their old oil a couple times a year and that seems to buy some time.

    so this is my first time dealing with preventing rust. I had one of the Tacoma’s that got bought back for rust lol.Granted it was a southern truck that came off the coast but still. I’m scared of rust.

    I know I always see fluid film mentioned and there’s a place around here close that sprays it . What kind of nightmare are you talking? I try to stay diligent about keeping the undercarriage sprayed off anytime it sees snow and salt also. At the most I’m only hoping to be in Indiana for 2 years and that’s if Primoris keeps there contract with Duke energy for that long
