I drove my ultra reliable 2002 work truck to deliver some water filters to a customers home yesterday, and it hit a mileage milestone as I pulled into the driveway. It should be noted that the last 3 digits of my 2002's VIN # are 666.

Quoting myself but... What would be really interesting exhaust exit

Graft a junkyard gas door/opening from the left bed wall onto the right side of the bed.
Peel the skin off the gas door frame, replace with a screen painted body color.
There's room in the wall to run an exhaust pipe up. - have it vent out through "the right gas door".
A bit of work, but a tidy result.

New leafs with the Icon pack got me close to 2", the old leafs with a block were flat and dead. Pretty happy with the rear now. As far as coilovers, I've been running some Donahoes for about a year now. I got them used and had Down South Motorsports do a complete rebuild on them. They currently have a 650lb spring but ride stiff as hell so Im guessing they are cranked down a bit too much. Previous owner had 5100s set in the middle and the Donahoes raised it about 1" more, giving it the bro stance. I don't like it, rides like shit. Once I have it all replaced I'll see if how it feels and adjust from there. Im sure the poor performance was due worn bushings in the upper and lower arms. Took 5 sawzaw blades to get the passenger arm off yesterday, driver side should be off later today. I'll make sure to snap some pics when it's all done. Can't wait!

Interesting on the lift gained, but I had to rub my eyes and read again when you mentioned Donahoe Racing coilovers. Thought those were extinct!

Icon will still Sell the rebuild parts for donahoes. I was going to rebuild mine on my taco... but uh. 10 years of road salt destroyed them beyond saving

icon sold me a new pair of shocks for 400 bucks though.

Finally tested the new front Durobumps today! They are perfect. Their height allows for the bump to hit flat on the lower control arm. Unlike our previous Tacoma wheeler's superbumps that were too tall and hit the control arm at an angle, edge first. Also with them being so tall we would practically float on them and get this bouncey ride. With the shorter Durobumps, the suspension was able to do the work so less bouncey, even with a blown front 5100! These will be available soon and I will testing their rears shortly as well. Sorry it took so long, but it's worth it

Scored a mini fridge for the garage for $10, already thinking about painting it. Picked up a free pallet while I was at it.

Praise be! I wasn't sure I'd live long enough to see it happen. They look like a better fit. Wish I didn't already have wheelers.

Yeah it also took us awhile to install and test, he was waiting on that. So partially our fault. Now that they have stamp of approval they should be on the site soon with rears shortly after. It's honestly worth ditching the wheeler's if you have that same bouncey feel.

I was going to say we turned purple 5 months ago waiting on these.

    Still might be waiting.

Upon final observations, I’ll be revisiting my homemade bump stops extenders (made back in spring) that are stored away. Looks like I made them about the same height as these new ones. Made them out of $10 test tube plug billets (6 per $10 order) from Big Gurrll.

Still not sure new stops are needed (for my use), though. A grease test says the 2002 shorty OEM stiff bumps never hit the LCA’s since spring time. Then again, I’m not climbing rocks.

Honestly, I had my current suspension setup both with and without the super bumps. I can't even tell they are down there. Since you're not offorading I wouldn't waste your money.

I live where they made, maybe I should see if he needs another tester!
They are also dual durometer, so they will behave differently than any other set up or home made madness

Thanks for this. I got all heavy on these when I decided on going for it. Made my own for cheap. Only thing is I never installed them once I got under the truck and pulled the originals off. Started looking at the large gap and said to myself, ‘Myself you’ll never bottom out this far. Do a grease test to prove it’.

Pretty sure it’s a fancy way to say they change from stiffer/softer the harder they’re hit

The durobump guy made some diff bushings for the front diffs on the 1st gen tacos... I need to order some, the tundra uses the exact same setup.

My homemades are triple max squishmeter. Patent Pending. Made from special scientific test tube rubber that resists chemicals with lots of added talc/graphite and stuff that causes cancer in California.

Just like Rex says on hills etc.

In town on flat I leave mine on.

If towing WITH a strong headwind, I turn it Off. Or, if towing up hills it gets turned Off.

Interestingly, the 2002 manual says to turn O/D Off when coasting down hill at highway speeds. Probably to keep the transmission from spooling?
