Just picked up a first gen. V6 4x4 5speed. Whenever I hit a bump or accerate hard my e brake light comes on and the handle itself comes out a little. I have to push it back towards the dash. Is there a spring in the handle? Or do I lube up under the truck?

Sounds like you need to take the slack out of the cable. Mine's a V8 with a parking brake pedal, so yours might be differerent, but the turnbuckle on mine is on the drivers side on the frame. Loosen the lock nut, tighten the turnbuckle to take up the slack in the cable, then tighten the lock nut. Might be rusty, so plan on dousing with your penetrant of choice.
