Obviously when my phone is plugged in I'm using Android Auto and everything pops up through Spotify, which is the music app I use. If I don't feel like plugging in and just use Bluetooth I only get the songs length to appear, no title, artist, album. Have any of you experienced this? 2020 TRD Sport btw

Try using other app to play music through bluetooth, maybe it's just spotify needs updating, or new update messed it up (happened to me before)

it is for sure the truck, my phone and my girlfriends phone both worked on my 19 Tacoma, and we can't get anything to pop up unless we are using Android Auto or for her Apple carplay

If you're absolutely positive that any other app will not do the trick, try to reset the Head Unit in settings and also disconnecting trucks battery might help too. Good luck

I usually have to shut off my Bluetooth and then turn it back on in order to get the connection to work in my truck, though it is an ‘18...

the Bluetooth connects no issue, it's just the data transfer of the song info

I'm not sure what this would do, but out of desperation and since it won't hurt I'll give this a try I suppose

For what it's worth, I am having the same issue on my 2020 TRD CrewMax. What's even more frustrating is that when initially connecting my phone via Bluetooth, I can see the song, artist, etc for 1 second and then it reverts to the Unknown, Unknown, Unknown like the photo above. I have gone into the audio settings and both enabled and disabled the Gracenote priority.

After many internet searches and attempts, I was finally able to solve my problem. Your mileage may vary, but it seems that once I changed the Bluetooth AVRCP version backwards, I was able to connect, play, AND SEE my music on the Tundra. Here is a link that provides more specific details -- https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/song-info-not-updating-over-bluetooth.1666904/

    Hope this helps someone.
