Hey All!!! So I found a 2015 Tundra CrewMax SR5 with a 108K miles on it with the 5.7 in it. It's in just about perfect shape inside and out. I'm likely going to go back tomorrow morning and pick it up for just under $25K. I'm been looking around for a while and I think it's a decent price. This will be my 1st Toyota and I know they have a high reputation for quality and longevity, but what exactly is longevity? How my more miles can I hope to get out of this with 100K already on the clock? I've head of people getting 300K, but is that more the norm or the exception?

Oh Yeah... it's the fastest color - Blue Ribbon Metallic ;-)
I'll share some pics once I bring her home :)

Congrats Joey!! With reg maintenance I’d expect your Tundra go to 300,000+ miles.
Just make sure to inspect the cam tower and rear differential, make sure there’s no leak or seepage.

Thanks Pinay! I did read just a bit of the 75 page thread on the cam towers LOL! Just to figure what a cam tower is now so I can look at it... is it just a fancy word for the valve cover???

Definitely worth it! They have well documented the 4.6 going a million miles, and I have heard mention of a 5.7 going a million miles, still searching for proof. They are easy to get to 300,000+ for sure. I had 197,000 on my '07 before the accident, and it was still going strong, no major problems. I didn't even think twice when I found my '14 with 90,000 miles.

    Welcome to the club!

My 2007 already had 270k when I purchased it... it will hit 300k next year.

Definitely check for cam tower leaks. A wet diff wouldn't be a deal breaker for me but maybe a haggling point. You'll never lose enough fluid for it to matter and you'll just match most the trucks on the road

It's the frame that supports the camshafts on each bank. Toyota calls that frame the "cam housing subassembly". A bead of sealant is supposed to seal it to the head, and sometimes the bead is MIA. Oil leakage, if present, will be evident at the seam between the cam housing and head just above the exhaust headers. The best view of that area will be through the wheel well splash guards.

Ha ha, ha ha, ha ha! You think so? It's NEVER done. Sorry. There is always something. First off, (and I don't get this but what the hey) you will find yourself 'deleting' the chrome. Next, the wheels and tires aren't right. Then you will want to 'fix' the sound system and put in under-rear-seat storage. Then the suspension, then changing out the lights for LEDs then... and then... and... then............................................. you are broke, but your truck will be killer.
