Wondering if anyone has run into this issue when upgrading from Entune Plus to Premium head unit With Nav.

I am prompted to download the Entune app but then it comes to the final step at accepting “terms” an error message comes up saying to check the vin or whether the truck is “Entune” suite capable. The truck had Entune plus. Scanning to code works, but cannot get beyond that step. ???
    Otherwise the system works great!

Think I answered my own question the app verifies the app matching the vin of a truck with a factory installed premium head unit.

I'm watching this thread, because I want to upgrade to premium in my 2017 SR5. I'm missing having the auto-nav-maps (without having to connect my phone) like in my Subaru Forester 2017. I wonder if the Tesla head unit can be programmed for extras, like Ham radio or camper-backup-camera views... as a different option? I'm still learning, but really like the entune premium option, if it works as advertised for an upgrade (without jbl).

Grab a vin # from a wrecked truck. That should make it work

What he said. you need the vin number of a truck with OEM installation of the premium head unit. Without t the Nav works, but with it, the system comes to life and connects seamlessly with all features and apps.

Can you call Toyota to update your VIN so the apps etc will be available?

Maybe. I just went on copart.com and looked up wrecked trucks that might have nav. 1794, limited or platinum and put one of those vins in.

I am thinking about buying the premium head unit from someone who changed out theirs - BUT - would need the Entire app to work so I can update the various apps...
