If you unhook your battery all night, does a code completely disappear?

Hello. If one were to play with their exhaust, and drive to an exhaust shop to put the 4 cats back, I imagine a code/light will pop right up. Will an overnight battery disconnect make the code completely disappear from any future OBD connections from a dealership or smog test?

    Thank you.

To completely drain all charge from the elec/computer systems after battery cables have been disconnected for 5-10 minutes touch the cable ends together for 5-10 seconds. The truck will be completely reset, will be hard 2 start, run rough for a few as it starts to relearn.

As long as the problem does not persist, removing the battery for the evening works. I just had to to do this after cleaning the battery and all the lights came on with check engine. Next morning everything was gone and has not returned.

If permanent codes happen to be set, anyone would be able to see them with Techstream (Toyota's diagnostic software).

I'm thinking no code would be set just because the cats are put back yet perhaps. Sure being off battery will reset any CELs. Most codes need to go thru a cycle to prepare for final Readiness (what is needed for an inspection). If you're not getting an inspection anytime soon, don't worry about the Readiness, which can take 50-75 miles of driving to get "fully" set.

Luck and enjoy those Toyotas. : ^ ))))
