I've got a squeaking and grinding noise from my rear differential. Can you help diagnose?

sounds like something is rattling. Your parked on the video, how can you hear something in the differential if nothing is moving?

The differential was just a guess based on where the noise is coming from. I'll jack it up and see if I can find anything.

Sounds like a heat shield with rocks on top of it, I assume it was just idling in park correct? I would turn it off and shake the exhaust and see if it make the same noise and just start checking heat shields
