Prep work is key. Is it a chrome grille? Best thing I can recommend is stripping the plastic chrome off first. Then a self etching primer, color, and clear will work just fine.
Rustoleum makes a bed liner in a spray can that has worked great for me. It chips here and there so I touch it up once a year. It’s not a show truck though so it doesn’t bother me.
