The only Hybrid I know of is the Nitto Ridge Grappler.
Y'all know something I don't know?

 

I got these today, I did look at the radar renegade Rt and they looked cool as wel

Cooper st maxx tires have been amazing

 

X2 on Goodyear duratracs, no complaints here.

 

toyo R/T are hybrid as well. The ridge grapplers are nice.

 

Okay so that makes 2 hybrid tires.

 

Goodyear Duratracs OR Nitto RT's

 

I just ordered a pair of Toyo RTs they are a true hybrid as are the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I didnt care for the overly aggresive sidewall on the Nittos but they were a close 2nd choice

 

Except maybe weak sidewalls? That is why I probably won't buy again.

 

I got to see the Toyos, Nitto, Radar Renegades and the Coopers XLT, the coopers seem to have the most pliable by touch, then the Radars then the nittos, and then the Toyos were the stiffest. However not much different than the Nittos. I drive on road 95% of the time and I didn’t want a super stiff sidewall, that’s why I didn’t go with the Toyos. I wanted a more comfortable ride. If Discount Tire carried the Radar Renagade RT I would have got those, they have the mountain and snow flake rating and looked a little better for rain than the Nittos. However I live in TX so what’s snow and rain?

They obviously didn’t put them to use to patrol their transmission lines.

 

Ive run Goodyear Duratrac, Nitto Ridge Grappler and Cooper ST Maxx and I rate them as

1 Goodyear Duratrac
2 Cooper St maxx
3 Nitto Ridge Grappler

The Duratracs had the best wet road and snow handling out of all of them. Most quiet and comfortable ride and they lasted a long time.

 

I’m going with Cooper AT3 next. Not a true hybrid but it’s perfect for my needs.

 

Rim / tire specs please?

 

Tire choice is dependent on where and how you drive. Most of my driving is on road also but I tow a 5000+ boat. My consideration with a tire is running around the ranch I hunt. Lots of rocks and stumps to tear up a sidewall and I can't afford to have a flat out there. It could ruin a weekend and most likely I would be driving home with no spare.

 

Those are stock TSS 20x9’s.

 

I agree 100%, I had the Toyos on my last truck and was talked into them and waste of money. I didn’t like the way they rode, how loud they were, and the look wasn’t the best. I preferred theBFG KO2 over them. I put about 30k miles a year on my truck and I tow my race quads and I get into pretty sketchy terrain, on both of my Tundras the KO2s did great. I go to my buddies deer lease about 3 times a year as well. These Nittos are even stronger than the KO2s and they are heavy duty and thick and 10 ply if something is truly going to puncture these beasts they are going to puncture anything. I honestly couldn’t move the side wall with just my hands I had to stand the tire up and lean on it and I’m 200lbs and work out 3 days a week. But I really liked the Radar Renegade RT. I honestly would have bought those, they have more sipes for rain and snow and more stepping in the grooves for snow. I go to Colorado 1-2 times a year to play in snow so not too much playing so I didn’t mind these Nittos

What size tire?

 

I got the 275/60/20 I had these standing next to the 33/12.5/20 and the 275 was taller by about 1/4 of an inch, the p rated tires they have same size were shorter. I think it was due to the tread being 17/32 vs 13/32

 

Currently running nitto exo grapplers. 275/60R20. Much better traction compared to my previous KO2 and balanced up with a fraction of the weight than the KO2 required.

 

Another vote for Ridge Grapplers. They’ve been great so far, both on road and off road...

 

Looks good. I have the 3/1 lift with 275/55/20 Terra Graps. I plan to go with your tire and size.

I see you still have all the flaps on. No rubbing? Backing or full lock?

 

No rubbing at all on the skid plate or the fenders. At full lock there is about 1/2” left all around and I’m on stock suspension. If I had the lift I would do the 285/60/20 or the 275/65/20 if you have the cash for it. I went this size because of cost and making sure I don’t need any mods and I drive a lot so I don’t want to be spending a ton every 1.5 years. I spent $1263 out the door with these that included the replacement certificates that discount offers and they matched Walmart’s price of $228. So I couldn’t beat that deal and they look fantastic

I will be going with Duratracs when I get new tires.
They handle well in the snow
