    I have the same problem I just marked with blue painters tape where my side window end when the truck is about 2" from wall, this trick worked for me for the last year, I can't use the door in my garage but taking care of my truck worth the sacrifice, I don't want to mess with cold mornings in winter, hail damage or snow. My truck is tight but have no problem with that if my truck is protected from this crazy weather in NW Arkansas.

    Using the left mirror as a reference to a strip of blue painters tape on the side wall is an excellent idea for my vision issue. There is no real depth issue with that..

    Could even put two pieces up, one to let you know you have 2-3 more inches before the second one and then the second piece being two inches in width with the wall being 3 inches from the right edge. And just as long as the edge of your mirror is inside the blue tape, I know I will be at least 3 inches from the wall. And then maybe some red tape after for the idiot zone :)

    As much as I don't want to put anything on the floor as I would invariably trip over it.. I think it's unavoidable in order to have that extra "idiot moment" assurance that you are bumping into something other than the wall.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one tryna fit my big ass truck into my small ass garage.

    My wife and I recently moved to a new house (new to us) closer to her work. We were blessed to know we could afford in South Orange County, Ca. After several weeks of unloading boxes, and building several over-head storage racks I'm the garage, I was proud to fit both vehicles into the garage.

    Had to get creative with storage too. Overhead racks from Costco.com. Wife pulls in and I back in allowing drivers door access for both of us. Trying to use every square inch of space.

    My 2017 Platinum CrewMax came in.

    Didn't take long to get the hang of lining it up going in (use strip of blue tape on front wall) and then the combination of using the front sensors, tape on the left wall using the mirror and a 2x4 (temporary until i get chocks) for the dead stop. Admittedly, minor seat adjustments could render the blue tape on the left wall being off a bit. But mostly the sensors are used for the "getting close" part and the chock (when they come in) for the dead stop. Pics

    My garage must be 21' deep. I back into it so I can use the camera and I've got my skeleton key (trailer hitch) for an extra bit of damage control. Have about 16"-18" clearance at the rear and 4-8" up front depending on my angulation. IMG_4893.jpgIMG_4894.jpg IMG_4895.jpg
    I have a detached 2 car garage that is 20x30' where my tools, lawnmower, and boat reside. Very lucky/blessed.

    [​IMG]I installed this for my wife....works perfectly every time and only 20 bucks. Comes on when the safety beam is tripped. Wired straight into the opener with just 2 wires, just pick a spot on the dash and put the dot there......best 20 buks ever spent. No floor chocks, no dingle balls hanging, no painted or taped lines......you never even know its there.
