Don't fall for the big 3's mark em up to mark em down strategy. All the matters is the price you pay. The big 3 inflate MSRPs so they can offer big discounts and make people feel they are getting a deal.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
IF you really want it, go with a lease to get it out of your system. If you still like it at the end of your lease, buy it. If not, just give the dealer back the keys and walk your happy butt to the Toyota dealership and get a Tundra. Kind of a win-win situation.

Tundra 5.7 is very powerful 3rd gen tundra owners dont know how powerful it is when their stock they have no response and lots of lag. Ram trucks off the lot hauls some ass. Toyota thought lets remap the throttle and shifts points for better mpg but it really didnt work. I have an 08 with bullydog tune on performance hauls way more than my dads 2019 ram 5.7 hemi. But at the end of day it comes down to reliability for me and power but mostly reliability. Trust me i had an f150 and never go back.

Dude im in the salvage biz and the #1 vehicle That I see & buy is Dodge products. They may look good but their crap !guys right as long as you can drive it within the warranty. You’re good. I’ve been in the Salvage business for 20 years and it still hasn’t changed Dodge is crap as for longevity.. On the other hand just recently I sold a 99 Land Cruiser hit hard at the front left wheel buckled roof and 250,000 miles. I got $3000 for that truck. Every time I sell a Toyota product it draws good money as opposed to dodge. Plus you can’t beat the pro for the rideFA1F8327-356F-42A3-B57D-0AEAF6AEDD8C.jpg

    Not nearly enough room here!
For generations, the customers who buy the 'big 3' were "walk-in's". They did little to no research and bought because Dad, Grand Dad and his Dad bought that make of truck. These are buyers who readily answered one of the Sales Rep's first questions..... "how much do you want to pay per month!"o_O:D

Maybe this will talk you out of it... I secretly want a Challenger as a third vehicle and browse one of the major AZ Dodge FCA dealers to check inventory. https://www.billluke.com/used-vehicles/
They currently have pictures and info for 141 used Rams for sale. Of those 141 trucks, 28 are manufacturer buybacks!!! That's right, 20% of this dealer's Ram inventory are trucks so poorly made the original purchaser convinced Ram to buy them back. :eek2: Figuring there is no way that was right, I called the dealer to ask. The sales lady I spoke with confirmed the titles to all these vehicles do indicate they were manufacturer buybacks. Would love to see info on how many Rams FCA is buying back nationwide.

They make the Tundra engine in Huntsville Alabama. I am on my 4th Tundra. Every time I trade after three years and am amazed at how much trade in allowance I get. I’m sure the Dodge Ram is a good truck, but I didn’t want to have a goats head staring at me. You may want browse the Ram forums to see what their owners gripes may be.

I had a Dodge pick up, it was good in many ways but it rusted much faster than any vehicle I owned previously. I would never buy another one for that reason.

I’m sure the ram has a host of reasons to be good, I just can’t get over dodge quality. I’m not trolling, was just the easiest way to show my feelings on the subject. :hattip:

    Excellent Choice !

‘Army green and a Crew max TRD PRO, you’re gonna make some good memories and not be stressing about epic cross country trips with the family.

RAM Rebel & especially PowerWagon 6.4 are the only 2 Rams I would consider. The interiors are plush and modern, the tech is kinda impressive when it all works, the suspension & ride is awesome. I think RAM has come a long way, sales numbers prove it. However...durability and reliability are just not there yet.

TRD PRO is something you can enjoy for 2 years and sell/trade it in with minimal depreciation. You’ll love it!

Just checked out a buddies brand new 1500. Even he said, “The only thing wrong with it is It’s a Dodge....”

the interior is phenomenal. Probably the sole reason their sales increased. But that’s not enough to offset reliability. Just bought my Pro 3 weeks ago. Zero ragrets!!

I was at an RV show last year and they had a Ram on the floor. It was very nice with all the tech and features. I really like the fifth wheel trailers and if I ever bought an RV, it would probably be a fifth wheel but it seems like only pick ups can tow those and only from the 3 American companies. After browsing this forum for a long time, it seems all 3 have their problems and I enjoy the Toyota reliability (one of the main reasons why I bought a Sequoia even though it cost a lot more than the other full size SUVs). Then after considering where I live, how much campsites cost, having to clean out the tanks, etc. I figured owning a RV would not be cost efficient and therefore would never need to buy any of the 3 American pickups.

I traded a 2018 (30k miles og owner) Rebel for a my 2020 Tundra. The RAM was a fantastic truck. I got rid of it because of the air suspension. If you are still in the market for a REBEL I would only buy 2019+ WITHOUT AIR SUSPENSION! Other than the Air ride the truck was fantastic......I wanted another Rebel but price points did not work for the way I wanted it speced. If you are worried about the reliability I know multiple people with 4th gen RAMs - they have been trouble free trucks - with the exception of my REBEL with air ride. I would not be concerned about the reliability. Believe it or not my 2015 Tundra (20k miles of owner) was the only truck I've owned that left me stranded. Toyota reliability IMO is often times hyped. Not saying Toyota's are not typically more reliable than other manufactures - there just tends be more hype about reliability from Toyota owners. That being said you cannot go wrong with a Tundra - and you cant go wrong with a REBEL....as long as it does not have air ride!

Trust me. Just stay away from the air suspension. there are plenty of RAM owners with air ride and have not experienced issues with it. However, there are plenty of people who have air ride and has been nothing but problems. Especially in colder climates.

A 2019+ RAM Rebel without air ride is the way to go.
