Best and most affordable rear shocks for 2005 Tundra CrewCab?

    2005 Tan Toyota Crew Cab
    Hi All, I bought a used 2005 tundra crew cab about a month ago. It wasn't taken care of the best (as I am now finding out). Anyways I'm looking to upgrade the rear shocks asap due to it bottoming out when I drove over a speedbump with a moderate load in the bed. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'm looking at the Rancho RS55041 shocks but never owned a Rancho shock on a vehicle before. Are the Bilstein shocks any better? Thanks...

    Eibach Shocks/Coils|Doug Thorley Headers|Spintech 3000XL Muffler
    The Bilstein 5100s are better than Rancho. Some other good brands to consider are Eibach and Old Man EMU by ARB.

    fyi 4 door tundras 2005 and 2006 are actually doublecabs even though that changed in 2007. Most people here go with Bilstein 5100s cause of the price and performance.

    Not sure Barry as I’ve never had The Rancheros before but can for sure recco the Billy Bobs 5100 as a great value for all around street performance tow/haul shock. They are stiff and sporty.

    If you are off roading mucho then plan on spending mucho on other types of shocks. Its a slippery slope.

    Replacing the rear shocks won’t change anything if your rear leaf springs are worn out (which it sounds like they are).

    Bilsteins are what you want. The Bilstein 4600’s are great for street/dirt road driving than the more stiff off road running 5100’s. Choose wisely by considering the terrain you frequently drive on. Avoid becoming irritated from feeling every imperfection in the road if mainly on street due to running HD off road shocks.

    Springs support the load, shocks dampen movement/rebound. New shocks won't keep you from bottoming out.
