True. I've done that with sage goats. I don't like them much, but I know people that did and needed the meat.

Yeah, I kind of fell out of hunting. I don't really like hunting alone, and everyone in this area likes to go "hunting" so they can camp and drink for days. As a non-drinker that's just not for me. :notsure: I don't hunt deer anyway. I think they are cute, so unless I am desperately needing the food, I won't shoot them. Elk... I'll smoke one of those beautiful critters, cuz they provide a full freezer of deliciousness.

They drink in camp after hunting in the morning. Not out there plastered with guns. At least they shouldn't be.

I agree, alcohol and guns are a bad combo. Like I said, I don't drink and don't particularly enjoy being around people when they do so it's a nonissue for me.

Though by that logic, you should have no alcohol at home because that is where your firearms are kept. Not trying to be a dick, but playing devil's advocate here. Unloading and storing the guns in a vehicle or camper at camp is no more dangerous than having booze at home where you keep your firearms.

Agree with both. When camping I have both on me. I have a beer or 2 (Coors light too boot) and done so that having a gun doesn't become an accident waiting to happen. It's called common sense. Now, when I know I will have more than a few, the pew pew goes away.

I agree with the alcohol bit. I hate alcohol and what it does to people and their lives. Different issue. I don't have a gun safe, nor do I store them unloaded. I'm just vigilant and nobody is ever at my house. lol

I was just playing devil's advocate. I always go on the side of freedom, so if somebody wants to be a drunken idiot in the woods, that is their right. They should suffer the consequences of their actions, and others may be affected by them, but freedom isn't always safe. Paraphrasing a quote that I think was attributed to Ben Franklin "Those who would trade freedom for security deserve and shall have neither."

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're a beer lover then you need to come up to Maine and visit threshers brewing15755662516743975674526524318313.jpg

That was addressed in my previous post. Freedom requires personal responsibility and accepting that someone else might use thier freedom in a way that could affect you or others.

I hear you about the topic edging into PM territory. If you'd like to continue the convo, PM me, but I am also fine with it ending here.

Not until June but I've been helping out with canning and some of the brewing process. Also my friend who works here turned 21 on Monday so they closed and had a private party that I was allowed to drink at.

Not really. Went to bed, but tossed and turned. Then woke up feeling like I hadn't slept.
Saw that you were up until the wee hours along with a few others. Insomnia seems to be another hobby shared by many on this forum.
