Installed mine today. Looks great. Not as powerful as I would like. I ran a test and it showed 4.08 watts, 816 mamps. But overall I am happy I got it.

 

I’m kind of ticked at Sparks parts. I ordered a while ago. I emailed after I found out they have Black Friday free shipping. They said if I add free shipping then I lose my place in line. Come on! Douche move to not throw in for a (formerly) loyal customer. If it doesn’t ship soon, I’m going to cancel and get from someone else.

 

Same thing happened to me. Now I must wait in line too.

I ended up canceling my order at Sparks and bought one on eBay. Shipped fast and it’s installed already.

 

I’m stubborn. Ordered on the 19th and still waiting. Was it worth saving $20, probably not. But now I’m committed.

 

I put mine in today. Took about 30 minutes. I had to cut the plug and splice wires cuz I had changed out my rear outlet for a few dual USBs over the summer. Still was an easy install.
I didn't remove my console lid, I just did it all in place and removed only the underside console cover and pried off that rear console trim which is easy. its 25 degrees out there so I wanted to be quick.
It works good. Starts charging phone very quickly and it indicates fast charging, sometimes I can't get that with a wall plug charger. I have an old Galaxy S7 with a spigen tough armor case which is not thin but not too thick. My old DIY charger would disconnect and was slow charging so this is great.

 

Good to hear! I too installed the dual USB plug. Can you elaborate on the splicing you had to do to get this to work? I'm still waiting for my charger to come in so I havent looked at the new wires yet.

 

I just cut the male and female plugs off at what is kind of a Y shape of wires that comes with the charger. I then used the red and black wires from the new charger and hooked them up to my red and black USB wires with a butt connector. Easy as pie and plenty of slack in the wires provided.

 

Sparks may have over loaded their a$$ on this one. I too have been a loyal customer and ordered due to free shipment. Last year I had a TRD dual exhaust system in my cart until a $250.00 shipment charge was added. I ended up ordering it through my son-n-law who owns a paint and body shop and who ordered it directly from Southeast Toyota Distributor with no shipping costs.

 

Any other place selling it besides Sparks and that ebay guy? Looks like ebay guy is out of stock and Sparks is way back ordered.

My dealership (Al Hendrickson Toyota) order our parts from Southeast Toyota. These chargers have been hard to get the demand has been way more then the available supply and we also have been limited to the quantities we can order daily. Now I can not speak for Sparks but I would assume they have been having the same issues. I possibly might have a few coming in tomorrow I will keep you posted.

I have ordered a lot of parts from Sparks over the past two years but none recently until now. I found it funny that when I called their main line, it directed me to text them for an order status update... that seems to be going backwards in customer service. Maybe I’m just getting old but I’d much rather speak to someone than text.

 

Spoke with Sparks today, they received more units today but didn’t specify how many... they said they hope to fill all back ordered units by the end of the year. They said that my order (placed on the 19th) was one of their oldest orders and could potentially ship today. Not very confidence inspiring but perhaps that gives some others an idea of where you’re at if you placed an order before or after the 19th.

 

I placed on the 14th but it wasn't processed til the 18th, I got mine 2 days ago so yours should be soon if they got more in.

 

Yeah, I ordered from them and was told they don't know when they'll be in, but it will be soon........lol I cancelled with them and got it on EBAY through Al Hendrickson Toyota and had it in two days. Check EBAY.

 

That was probably a good idea. The eBay ones are out of stock at the moment. At this point it’s probably about the same either way for me.

 

I thought the same thing, but I'd see one or two pop up on EBAY through Al Hendrickson. It may be worth a shot to check from time to time. Sparks was very quick to issue a refund too. Within a day it was back on my credit card.

 

I will say this charger is worth every penny! Was easy to install and now I don't have to look at that stupid charging cord sticking out of my dash.
