Hello All! 2nd Post here (just did new members). I’ve read lots of advice since I purchased my first Tundra in May, and thank y’all for the wise contributions. My question is about TPMS and upgraded tires.

    Background:

Stock tires are 49PSi recommendation according to door and were a 17” rim. I purchased Firestone Destination MT/2 35”x12.5x20 with a max PSI of 65. According to some posts on here about calculating correct PSI and Firestone’s website, my tires were immensely over inflated. I thought there was something wrong with the suspension or struts as my truck was so bouncy. Tire shop put them at 51; I have since dropped them to 38 at the recommendations of here and Fstone. Just got back from a test drive.......night and day difference, so much better!!!!! Now though, truck TPMS is on. Any idea on how to fix this and the speedometer is definitely off too.

Typo, 49 PSI. Good catch, that’s what they were at when I checked.

Follow the baseline pressure reset procedure following the instructions in your owner’s manual and using the little round black button under the steering column.

    Here you go...

OP, 35 should be good on those based on load range compared to the oe 285/55/20.

    https://static1.1.sqspcdn.com/static/f/589830/23447320/1378330097907/Discount+Tire+inflation.pdf

There is the TPMS reset button on the bottom right of the dash (in front of where your right knee would be).
Make sure the tire pressure is where you want it.
Hold the button for a few seconds and the light on the dash should blink and then stay solid.
Drive or leave the truck running for at least 15 mins.
Your baseline pressure will now be reset to 35.

Great Description!!! This will save my OCD ass! I hate dash light-ups. I mean on long road trips where I know I’m gonna be using brights a lot. I put electrical tape over the brights on light.

Looking at your post I saw this sticker on your truck and just noticed that I have the same. Anyone know what option gave this truck the reduced payload?

Could be bed liner or sunroof. Mine has the sticker saying it was reduced by 7 lbs or something small like that.
