Well this is a first for me, but I’m getting a new tire for free from the dealership. Took my truck in this morning for an oil change and when I left, the tire light came on. I didn’t think much of it, maybe a bad sensor. I got about two miles down the road, and felt it dragging, the entire tire flat and on the rim. I ended up changing it in the pouring rain.

went back to the dealership, and they pulled it around to look. What i originally thought was a tire weight you can see in the first picture turned out to be a dang wrench! It was their fault and replacing it no questions asked, but this was the first time I’ve seen this. I didn’t pull it all the way out yet.

Front or rear? I would ask them to replace both front or both rear as they will wear unevenly

That's pretty wild! Changing a tire in the rain does suck though.

Of course it's a 10mm. I have been looking all over for that.

Strange this occurred at the dealership. My dad picked up a wrench in a tire on his F150 this week also.

Too bad it was a 10mm socket. :anonymous: Hope you got to keep the wrench.

Weirdest thing I've ever found in a tire was a 7.62 shell casing.

In that first picture you have dry rot. It looks like it's time to replace all 4. Make them buy 1 and you get a 25% discount on new tires.

I’ve been watching the cracks on them and that’s actually one thing that has concerned me a little bit. I know the surface cracks on tires are pretty normal, which is what these are....but these tires are less than 2 years old and have about 23k miles on them. I didn’t expect these Nitto’s to do this nearly as fast as they have.

I just measured them and they are all 4 roughly 10-11/32. I feel like they have worn quicker than I expected, but they are all 4 even. I bought them expecting 40-50k, so we will see.

Wrench doesn’t surprise me. Ive seen half a set of scissors. A birds bone, wheel weights, a rail road tie, and quite a few have had rear drum pins in them.
