Rear springs vs shackles

    Anyone run ads a leaf springs for rear? Was about ready to do shackles but wondering if the add. Leaf would be any better for towing?

    The add a leaf will definitely be better for towing. The shackles don’t give you any extra spring rating, they just lift the rear up and away from the bump stops that much further. While the shackles may help with towing along with the poly bushings they won’t help in the right way for squat. I would say upgrade the shackles To something close to stock but upgraded bushings and then and add a leaf or progressive add-a- leaf pack. Or go with airbags. There is also quite a few other alternatives. Look into Timbrens and sumo springs as well.

    Thanks. I already bought the bushings and have 1.5” shackles I was planning to Install. I dont tow all the time but when I do I notice the squat.
    Although. - I don’t won’t a really rough ride when not towing

    I myself have been eyeballing a progressive add a leaf from icon.
