Just got a new to me 2016 Tundra from having a Tacoma for the last 7 years. I want to put a rear sway bar on the back but notice quite a variation in prices on sway bars from the one put out by Hellwig 400plus dollars to the one from SPARKS for 210 bucks. Can someone tell me if it is worth the extra money for the Hellwig and what is it that you are getting more of for the extra money. Thanks for any replies.

The Hellwig is a fat heavy duty sway bar that comes with heavy duty hardware, the TRD is not heavy duty but it's by no means dainty in any way either.

Order the TRD rear bar, everyone here that has one will tell you the same. Don't pay the extra money for aftermarket brands when the Toyota one performs well.

I would rather have the Hellwig on my '07, and I may upgrade to it if they can supply short end links required with my rear suspension lowering kit.

Thanks for the replies so far. Has anyone had good luck or issues with the SPARKS sway bar?

The one from Sparks is probably the TRD. You can go there or Toyota of cool springs. Best deals from both.

Thanks Purplenova for the tip on BAM wholesale who is selling the TRD rear sway bar for 200 bucks which is the best price I've seen yet. I think I'll buy from them.

I have had both TRD and Hellwig on the same truck. The Hellwig in my opinion is better. Why? Installed correctly your ground clearance is not reduced (seems the TRD hangs lower). The Hellwig is adjustable. I read there have been folks that get the TRD and it is soon for sale (good for the rest looking) because the ride is just not what they expected. The Hellwig is adjustable, there are 3 holes to adjust it with. The other thing about Hellwig is the links from the frame to sway bar are adjustable which helps when you have a lift.

In the end, take that shit off and wheel!!! LOL

I ordered a TRD sway bar from BAM 2 months ago. Love the new ride on pavement. It plants the truck well while turning

I put the TRD sway bar on within 3 months of owning truck, for the 90% to 95% pavement the truck sees the TRD is worth the price point and definitely made the windy PA roads easier to maneuver. If you were doing a lot of towing or had hundreds of pounds in the bed all the time the more expensive Hellwig is probably the route to go.
