I recently purchased a 2011 tundra after over 30 years of owning all the domestic trucks and dealing with the problems that come with them. After a few months of research on this forum I have decided to purchase a DV8 front bumper. My only concern is the auxiliary light locations appear to direct the light to the sides. To those who already have one of these bumpers, is there an issue with the the lights being pointed in a useable direction? I will be purchasing better lights so I am not concerned with the ones included with the bumper.

I don't have that bumper, but have looked at it and considered it. But I have the same concerns you do. If I did go that way I would build some adapters to straighten out the area of the mounted lights. I'm still looking. I do have the DV8 rear bumper but I modified that also. Closed up the open light holes and went with Rigid surface mount lights tied into my reverse lights.

I had the DV8 on my 07. The lights are angled to be basically ditch lights. I had a bad experience with my DV8 quality and fitment. Crappy actually. The DV8 fitment for the 2014's and up seem to have no issues including a fairly decent powder coat. No more Chinese bumpers.

The fog lights rarely get turned on these days for me. When they were on before I didn't have any issues with field of view

Rigid sells angled flush mounts (spacers). Somebody on here bought a set and tried them out on the DV8 bumper. It's buried in another thread, though. From what I recall, it was an improvement, but still wasn't enough angle. Here are the spacers:
    https://www.rigidindustries.com/angled-flush-mount-d-series-afm-d-series.html

It seems like something could be 3D printed pretty easily to provide the angle you want. That being said, what do you consider usable angle? What is your intent of the lights? I bought some fog lights (NOT the lights it came with) and put them in the inner set of light holes. Still not the best angle, but it casts light right in front of the truck like it's supposed to.

I wired up two of the included lights on the outer set of light holes. I put a cheapo light bar in the license plate/winch mount area, and hooked all these three lights together and use them as my deer-on-a-country-road lights. I'm not looking to cast a ton of light forward like with a 52" light bar. But I want to see to the sides of me better in the open fields that flank the road to potentially spot deer zeroing in on the road.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
I had a DV8 front bumper. I never had any issues with the lights that came with it originally. They can be altered to shine in a different lite pattern. It’s just customizing it.
anything is possible, with any bumper.
I didn’t use the fog lights much either.
I even had the bull bar which I had mounted lights on it too. It was bright as hell when lights were on. I did have a small fitment issue. Nothing a small hammer didn’t fix.
The thing about the DV8 is people get out of the way when they see that bumper coming at them.

what U expect for sunny San Jo...
    No light fogging. :burp:

3 of my 4 lights got condensation once the weather went south here in CO. Cheap ass Chinese lights. To be expected and already had decent replacements beforehand to swap in. Buy once , cry once. I should have known better......

My lights fogged up a bit too, but it wasn't too bad. Too bad there's no much inclement weather in LA

The two included lights I did use I disassembled to black out the chromed non-cone parts of the reflectors. This gave me the opportunity to make sure the gasket was in tact, there weren't any burs or debris on the seal path, and make sure the screws compressing the gasket were even and snug. Knock on wood, but they haven't fogged yet (while my RTV'd Spyder headlights have).

I have read most of the threads regarding the fitment, quality and issues associated with the dv8 bumper. But its hard to argue with $600 on ebay!I intend to purchase SAE compliant fog lights, and am trying ton keep overall costs to a minimum. It is easy to turn these trucks into money pits of aftermarket accessories. Thanks to all who took time to post advice or opinions.

if your lucky it will come scratched in places that don’t really matter, you can call the sales folks and ask for money off your purchase to fix said damages as I did. $450 was a great price.
