Pro Grill, which one?

I have the original, but the kids are wanting me to upgrade it to the 2019. What would you do? And yes I know, the chrome caps need to go.

 

If you are not having issues with the TSS system I would say stick with what you have! I honestly love both PRO grills!

 

I prefer the 15-17 grill.

 

No issues when it works. I think it might need a 1.5” in the rear instead of the 1” it has now. Thinking about the 1.5” ToyTech shackles.

However, your chrome disgusts me. [I get why you want to black it out with that look, I just think the chrome phobia on this site is almost at apocalyptic dimensions.]

 

Exactly! Chrome works with some colors, but IMHO, blacked out Quicksand/Red are the best combinations.

 

I have the old pro grill as well but I like the look of the new one more. But yeah, you ought to spend on color matched bumper caps first! Those will make a much greater visual impact than updating the grill.

When I get my '20 PRO I want that grille off, and put the old one, but I know someone on here has done this, they mounted the sensor behind the old one and have no issues, but I can't remember if they are lifted or not

Honestly, I think the older pro grille looks better. The Quicksand really sets off agains those black bars in it. Just my opinion, which really shouldn't matter for your truck.

 

I share the same opinion. For whatever reason the kids like the cheese grater look.

 

I have the 15-17 PRO grille in my 18, all I did was double side tape the sensor to the bottom part of the grille shell. Works great.

 

Then keep it as you like it. I plan to color match the chrome and keep my stock SR5 "cheese grater" grille center. Primarily because I like the look of it, but also because it will be the simplest thing for the TSS sensors. That's the joy of it; you can build these things out however you want and there are plenty of options.
