Thanks. XM reception in my 19 is very poor, cuts in and out all the time, especially when driving next to tall trees. Had a Jetta with a shark fin antenna and it rarely drops signal. I was thinking a shark fin antenna on a tall truck should have no problem.

Sean I have serviceable drive shafts 2019. I know this when Toyota Care noted on the paper work they were greased. Went home to check sure enough they had the fittings and seen some grease. What do think ? I read some owners saying they have non on me year and model !

I just picked up my new truck last night. After an hour of driving and listening to the radio, I am liking the new shark fin antenna. It is a lot better than the older ones. XM doesn’t cut in and out anymore on my route to work. When I pull into the garage with door closed, I was still getting reception on XM. I was shocked. FM reception is about the same as before. No more hitting the garage door and no taking it off going thru car wash. Overall happy with it.

And all the useful storage that was behind rear seats. I work Shiftwork and had coats and winter gear back there. I've only had my 20 TRD Sport 4X4 for a week so I haven't really looked for aftermarket remedies for lack of storage.

Crewmax, SmartKey equipped, so evidently, (The ad says Aluminum Lockbox won't work under my back seat) I haven't looked to see what is there but I assume some receiving electronics may be mounted back there..

That’s the first I’ve heard of that. If you had a double cab you can modify the seat back to lean forward. There may be a few other options for you besides the entire lockbox under the backseat. Some have DIY installed stainlessPans cut into the floor. Or you may just have to look into something like a swing case for the bed.

Besides some minor styling changes, there isn't any big news for the 2020 model I'm guessing? We are due for an "all new" Tundra in '21 or '22?

No big news... all small stuff. Antenna is now on the roof instead of fender, new radio/navigation, some trims have push button start. Supposedly they'll be releasing the new truck in 2021 as a 2022. Rumor mill says hybrid V6 turbo and the test mules have had their rear axles hidden so likely some changes there as well.

Curious to why they would hide the rear axle?

Could be something to do with the new drivetrain... or maybe suspension/axle since it's 6 lug.

6 lug, 5 lug nut lol. There seems to be a bar parallel with the ground on the bottom picture. I'm curious as to what that would be. Maybe part of what they're trying to keep covered.

I was looking forward to the connected services stuff, particularly the remote connect for remote start/lock unlock/etc, but as it turns out the SR5 trim levels with the base radio and the "Plus" radio don't support it... put my VIN into the app and it says "Your vehicle isn't supported". Kinda sucks.

The bar coming off the front of the axle hangs down really low. It could just as easily be a support to hold the approns on. Doesn’t look correct to be a suspension link.

And we can see a standard looking pumpkin so unlikely independent. I Have a feeling coil springs are likely

I've got the SR5 package but with the TRD Sport so i could get the connected services stuff, Color matched everything, and LED lights. The LED lights are by far my favorite.

Good Point. I couldnt even imagine what that bar would be anyway. And yeah, definitely a standard pumpkin. She's sitting low and small tires.

Coil spring/linked rear doesnt bode well for payload, but would improve the ride quality. The new truck may be going soft... if that's the case I'll keep my leaf springs and my V8. Haha

Dodge uses coils on their 2500 HD so it should be fine. Links and coils will be strictly an improvement in all areas except for offroad travel, which is expensive to do with links/coils

Oh no not me. So far, in my use, the sealed units far outlast the servicable units. If you live where it rains a lot, snows a.lot and gets in the dirt a lot the sealed units are the tits.

I'm guessing it's a trailing arm/panhard bar suspension set up. If I recall correctly one of the main engineers left Dodge for Toyota.

Maybe an airbag setup in the back since toyota sees how much we bitch about their saggy saggy leaf springs

i do have the Entune 3.0 Plus head unit....was told it would work (by salesman) but doesn't...can't totally load the app(s) because it said my iphone operation system needs updating...can't update the 5s...too old...also asked and was told it had integrated GPS...doesn't...just use my Apple Car Play for that though...
