Why not just remove front mud flaps?

I had some aftermarket wheels installed and the offset caused the tires to rub on the front mudflaps. In anticipation of putting on larger tires, and the current factory ones rubbing, I just removed the front mudflaps. I really didn't see much purpose for them anyway. Am i missing something as I see very few pictures of trucks that have them removed.

Most people do when they go up in wheel size. No biggie

Removed mine first week I got the truck. I just think the truck looks better without them.

From what I understand, these are not 'mudflaps' but they guide the air flow around the tires. Has to do with mpg, as I remember. I took mine off when I got larger tires.

Well if you don't like the paint on your doors, go right ahead. Big tires throw bigger rocks/pebbles.

I took mine off when I installed 6112 and larger tires. Looking back, I think the tires would have cleared but I do like the look without them. I have experienced a few rocks hit the body that would have probably been deflected by the guards but no noticeable damage yet.

Mine have been on off on off and now back on, it’s a mental fight. They really help keep the rocks off the bottom of the doors, but they are not my favorite thing hanging off my truck.

I removed mine, the truck looked more like a car... I put them back on.

Why not just keep the OEM wheels?

Because aftermarket looks better 100% of the time. Dunno if you’re just trolling or not...

With OEM wheels you get to keep the mud flaps on. That's all.

Mine are still on but had a Tacoma I had to take them off due to rub.

    I didn't miss them.

Bet they are still in my basement
