That is the question. So I had seen a real nice FJ cruiser 2014 with only 25k miles on it. They are asking 40k for it so that is not an option now. I own my 2008 Tundra 2wd that has lots of mods now. I have been wanting a 4wd so that's why I was looking at the FJ. My wife feels bad for me because she think with as much as I work I deserve it. She was willing to trade her 2016 Avalon for the FJ. Now that I'm not considering the FJ she told me why not a 4runner so I told her I would start looking at them. My question is do I keep the Tundra and get the 4runner or do I pay off the Avalon and wait for next gen Tundra to the sale the Tundra Avalon would be paid for and get the New Generation but in 4wd? Would like to hear it from you guys what do you think?

    Your wife sounds awesome!

I’ve been in the same spot as you for 2 years. I’ve gone back and forth a lot.

The prices of the FJ’s have gone up so much I wouldn’t get one. It’s basically the same thing as a tacoma, why not just get another pickup for a lot less.

I was in the same spot...trying to decide on a deal on a leftover 2019 or waiting for the redesign. Literally been going back and forth for a year. I drive a lot (25k/yr), so mpg is something I look at. I have a feeling the next gen will be a significant improvement.

However, from what I’m told the next gen won’t hit lots until Dec 2021 at the earliest and will likely sell at a premium for the first year or so. So, that would put it at 3 yrs before I’d pull the trigger on a next gen. I didn’t want to wait that long and found a deal on a 2019 Pro I couldn’t pass up.
