I crawled under the Tundra this morning to grease the slip yoke and saw this. In my estimation, it doesn't look bad, it's not leaking fast and there's no glaringly obvious source of the leak but, something isn't right. Has anyone seen this before? What do I need to do to start tracking down the source? FWIW, everything works as it should with no weird sounds, vibrations or otherwise. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Looks like the transfer case output shaft seal, would be my best guess

I’m assuming this is the rear end of the 05 transmission as our 2002 A340f transmission looks a little different.

Not sure where your leak is coming, but if it was me I’d clean it up real good with brake clean and wipe it all down. Drive and keep an eye on it daily. Might be that prop shaft seal weeping.

Check your fluid level to be on the safe side.

It's the output end of the Tcase.

That's just rust prevention. Nothing to worry about.

But yeah, keep on eye on your fluid level.

Looking into replacing the output shaft seal now. Doesn't seems like a real involved job, at all. I may just have to throw a new seal in there just to make me feel good.

Your transfer case definitely looks different than my 02. Keep us posted on what you do.

    I agree with this.
You’ll need a new seal and a new stake nut. 30mm socket.
