New to the forums but I wasn’t around when I installed a new steering wheel cover on my 2012.

Purchased off Amazon and took roughly 6 hours from start to finish for the install.

That looks great... Did you finish the stitching or does the kit come with it already pre-patterned?

You have to finish it yourself. It took a ton of patience and a few mishaps. But I’m happy with the outcome.

Looks great. How much thicker or bigger does it make the steering wheel look and feel?

My steering wheel has worn through the outer coating down to the foam now.

Got a link or title for that cover kit?

Is there one particular brand that stands out? Can you get black leather with red stitching?

I have the cover and haven't been brave enough to try this yet. It looks like you did it with the wheel still on the truck. 6 hours is a long time to be sitting in there stitching. Nice job.

It has more girth to it than the original. Better feel to it. Not as slick.

I will find the link and throw it on here.

Looks great. I like doing upgrades, but I don’t think I could spend 6hrs in my truck stitching. That sounds like a half-case of beer job, at the minimum. And that many beers, my stitching would probably start looking like chit!

So I can’t find the link on Amazon now. I believe the company was Yonky. Yes. Yonky. Maybe Yonki. I’ll keep looking. It was $49.99

You did a really good job on that. I recently stitched one up on my 3 week old tundra -- i'm super happy the the results on mine, but yours looks pro compared to my elementary school art project of a cover job.

There is another thread on this where it is recommended to take the wheel off. It makes it easier than trying to tuck around the wheel controls.

Having the steering wheel still mounted allowed me to really get the leather to stretch when I pulled on it. I feel like having the steering wheel off of the column it might have taken me longer. Just my 2 pennies.
