    Hey all,

Bought my truck a little over a week ago it's 17 with 55k on it.. things have been great for the most part. So on The way home I had a situation on the highway where traffic went from about 80 down to 60 quickly. I braked hard but not emergency hard. My truck started to shake pretty violently. Mind you havent experience this at all to this point. So I though maybe the road was just pitted up an cause the vibration.. well not long after I exited the highway an coming to a stop on the offramp same thing.. to the point of concern that something going to shake right off the truck.. so get a little slower an seemed to essentially go away.. tested braking hard a few times. No vibration. Down hill about 45 hit the brakes nothing smooth as glass... What gives . If I warped a rotor why would it just go away.. anyone experience this before??

Yeah, I have. I'm not sure yet what is causing it but the rotors it is not. Once they are warped, they are stay warped and would be easy duplicate. Generally only under moderate braking at speed do I experience it.

I just pulled the wheels looks like I have all new brakes front and rear I can only assume just replaced before I bought it. Everything in the front seems right no play...

Could you have been experiencing the ABS simply functioning? Kinda startling if you’ve never felt, sounds similar to your description...
Edit: a good grinding can also be felt thru the brake pedal when ABS is doing its thing...

I didn't hear any ABS grind that I am used to. It didn't feel like it.i mean it could be as it's a new truck but like when I exited the highway I wasn't hammering on the brakes just normal braking an it was real bad.

Could your brakes be so good you’re triggering ABS by pressing too hard? I’m at 80k on my factory brakes and I’m dying to know what new ones feel like again...

I guess that's what I am chalking it up to at this point. That the abs came on, even though it was like none I have experienced before..I took it for another drive everything is still smooth as butter..

    Alot of them
My rotors have bad hot spots. The rotors dont actually warp. The warping is the uneven buildup of brake material that bonds when the rotor gets hot under an abnormal instance like rapid braking. It could be a buildup that causes it to shake when hot. My shaking varies depending on the rotor temperature and the outside temp. I shake more in the afternoons than I do in the mornings.
