Good morning all! My voltage gauge is not working on my 2005 Tundra? The needle is buried, and flinches a little. I have an Ultra Gauge and that says my voltage is at 13.67 ....so I think the alternator is working, has any one else had something similar?

Any work on the battery or other electrical work lately?

When the voltmeter buries and flinchs it usually means you have a hard short somewhere. Better find the problem fast before your problem begins to multipy...dead battery, bad alternator, blown fuses, etc.

If I was the Great Carnac the Magnificent, I would be able to help you more. ;)

Last time I saw this was a broken headlight loose in the housing with the element intermittently grounding to the surrounding sheet metal. Moral: Look for, find, and fix any abnormal bs with your truck. Look for something unusual. Shake harnesses to see if that makes any difference. Otherwise, you'll need to provide a panaramic video of your truck engine compartment, exterior, interior, etc. Even with that, unlikely anyone is going to find your problem over the internet.

Summary: The short could be anywhere; your truck, your short, you dig down and find it. :(
