I have spots of dark red paint all over lower sections of my truck. I tried polishing with no results and will try clay bar this evening. Any other ideas on how to get these off?

Exhaust Dirty Deeds 8”SS, some led lights, Osram headlights, Pro Stop brakes, Pop Lock, AFE dry air filter with charcoal delete.
Goof off should work well. Also Ardex solvent. Don’t forget to wash and wax the area when done.

I think the clay bar should work. Let us know. Good luck.

Was someone painting the curbs and sprayed your car? If yes, city should pay to fix it!

It could be worse, there could be white paint all over your truck. Cue the drumroll please!

Gasoline is awesome for paint removal <——- not a joke.

Painting company got over spray on several vehicles at ex's day care. My truck had just been repainted by Ford. The painters paid a company to remove the over spray. Not sure how they did it but you should be able to google it.

Dunno, I got some industrial paint overspray on my 1976 car back in 1986. The finish was always great. After using gasoline to get it off it never had the luster again. I'd start with alcohol and work my way up to naptha, or a high grade mineral spirits. I oversprayed some bed liner on mine a few weeks back doing a patch and wiped it off with acetone.

i finally had a chance to try to get some of this paint off and so far nothing is working. I used clay bar first which did not seem to even touch it so I tried the WD40 to no avail. Any other thoughts of next item to try?

Try a petrolium jelly or petroleum based product. Something that isn't liquid and won't evaporate. Dab it on there and let it sit. It won't hurt your clear coat but it should help soften the paint on top of it. I have a bright blue Audi and accidentally hit yellow line paint once. this worked wonders on the side skirts. Definitely try a spot before tackling the whole thing.

On another thought, 3M makes an adhesive remover that works really well if you spray it on a blue paper towel and hold it on the area for a few seconds before trying to wipe it off.

Just removed some road paint from the wifes car a couple weekends ago. Goof off aerosol is some great stuff! Yellow up one side, white up the other. A couple hours of elbow grease.
