I'm going to install the Bilstein 6112 coilovers. Should I use 1 shim on the drivers side and nothing on the passenger side? Or install 2 on the passenger side and 1 on the drivers side? I would like to get a 3" lift in the front. Will new UCAs be needed? If yes what brand world work best. Thanks for the help.

Is your truck leaning left to right? Mine did not. It was even before and after the lift.

If your truck is leaning and the driver side is lower by 1/2 inch, then you will need a shim on the left side. If you want 3 inches, you will have to use 2 on the driver's side and 1 on the passenger side. Bilstein struts don't give you 3 inches even at the highest setting. At 3 inches, you probably won't need a set of new UCAs.

You wont need to shim either side. At least i didn't and Ive never done it on any of the trucks weve installed the 6112s on (weve done a few).

If you're going to set it up at 3" you deff want to run an upper control arm. You're going to get the best ride results with something that corrects your geometry and allows you to get it aligned properly.

If you plan on doing mostly street driving, id consider doing something like our ball joint upper arms. Nice & quite with low maintenance..
