Looking into pulling the trigger on the 4x4 boss 6112/5160 setup and not sure if I want to keep my stock platinum wheels and just get tires or get wheels/tires. I do not want to cut or trim anything or deal with any rubbing. If you guys got this setup with the platinum wheels please post up your pics so I can see how it looks. Thanks

In all honesty this is the happiest I’ve been with my truck. I have tried a few different sets of wheels and I’m ready to go back this way now.

What size tires were they? Any rubbing or modifications needed?

Only issue I encountered was I would rub the skid plate at full lock, just cut off the “ears” and all was good. Tire was a Michelin LTX ms2 LT275/65/20

Ah no sir it’s all the way up at 2.5” plus I’ve got 2- 1/2” shims on drivers side and one on the passenger side. The front gained right at 3.25”

Awesome I believe that’s pretty much what the boss 4x4 kit came with also (shim wise). How was ride quality after you made the swap? Thanks for all the info

When I had the Michelin’s it felt a little stiffer but still had a nice absorption feeling, but since I’ve gone to the nittos I run a little higher tire pressure and you feel everything, I mean everything.

Yikes that’s what’s I’m afraid of the truck drives so good right now stock compared to my old Silverado.

I was actually disappointed at how soft the factory suspension felt, I like the upgrade because it seems to make the truck feel more stable, it doesn’t nose dive when stopping hard or rock back on hard acceleration. Just handled everything better imo. But I like to feel the road, doesn’t bother me. You’ll be good, just pair up a quality tire that has good “comfort” reviews.

thanks for the info man I appreciate ya. I know there’s countless of these threads I was searching through old ass threads and didn’t want to be that guy that bumps something 2 years old to ask someone a question haha. I’m gonna pull the trigger on this kit.

Where did you put the adjuster on the front? I'm about to install the same shocks and have a 1" shackle in back.

    Thanks
