Well I guess your choice is either a double cab or a crew max with a trailer. I think you know the answer.
    Cavalry blue all the way.

Cavalry blue CM, but I may be biased. You can always add more exterior storage room with the CM....cant add extra interior room with DC.

If you have kids, get the CM.

I got mine mainly for carrying people and the extra room in the back seat is a plus on our CM. When I flip the seats up there is plenty of room for equipment, groceries, etc.

I have a trailer for things to large for the bed.

I absolutely love mine! 105 in summer. Roll that bitch down and cruise. In 2 minutes the trucks cooled off immensely. Dont use it in winter obviously. And I especially love the sunroof/moonroof. Comes in handy more than you'd think. Lots of off road/gravel roads I take that I can see the top of the hills through it and look for animals as we are taking leisurely road trips.

But to each their own. I had 4 guys and their hunting gear in the cab with room to spare. Buddy was bitching about the size of his dodge ha ha.
How has school been treating Manning anyways?

Get DC. If your kids or friends don’t fit, make them lay in your full size bed. If that does not work, make then take their own vehicle. Just kidding.

If you have more people in your truck more of the time, get CM. If you have more work related stuff in your bed, get the DC. If you haven’t had vasectomy yet, get CM.

Only worthless until you don't have a truck even with the 5' bed and you have to go buy ply wood at home depot. Don't be this guy.

I had a CM, and the interior room was awesome.

We used the interior space way more than the bed.

However, load capacity is reduced with the CM compared to the DC, if towing/hauling is a concern.

I have a trailer, so no big deal on the bed space. The capacity is what got me more often than not.

Looks like this thread started a hate relationship between Tundra Owners. Lol.

Buy what you like, what fits your needs and your family, roll tall and strong in your Tundra, no matter what others think.

If the one you buy is not what you needed, buy the other one. It's all a big addiction and love for Tundras. This is why we are all here in the first place. To see each other upgrades and issues with break downs (if any). :)

Ride and Roll your Tundra Tall and Strong!

Not sure why everyone says "if you have kids get the CM". Grown ass men fit just fine in the back of a DC, why wouldn't kids be able to?

I debated between both before getting a crewmax. I went for the extra interior room and rear window vs the bed size. You can't go wrong with either one.

CM. Get a trailer because even an extra foot of bed isn't all that much. If I were to get a topper and wanted to sleep in the bed then that's a different story.

I had the same problem, but it came down to the bed and the cab, those two things you can not change. Kids are grown up so passengers not all that often and just the wife and I. I also thought the DC just looked better with the longer bed. We took a short trip and my wife and sister sat in the back and said they were comfortable. I was able to add folding mirrors so I can it in the garage, very happy with the DC limited.

No because I can’t drive from the back seat lol. Can’t think of a scenario where I would have adults riding in the backseat that long but we’ve taken several hour long trips with the backseat full of adults with zero complaints. I don’t think children would have a problem at any distance, which was my point.

They all look a little goofy, but the DC looks extra goofy to me.

But, looks aside - the DC's bed space is awesome. However, that said - if you and your family are of any real height - the backseat of a DC is an effing joke. I'm 6'8", and my kids are following suit. I realize I am definitely on one end of the spectrum, but I laugh when people say that the back seat of a DC has "plenty of room" for adults. Maybe if you are a little person.

I do wish I had more bed space sometimes, but that would make my current payload even more pathetic.

I sit in the back seat sometimes while my wife drives during long trips. The backseat of the CM actually has more legroom than the front. It's awesome. That is one of the things that sold me on the CM - I jumped into the backseat and could stretch my legs out.
