2000 4.7 4x4 auto left truck for a week went to start it to go home and battery was dead. attempted jump start and acted like something was shorting out. charged batt off of donor vehicle with batt disconnected reconnect batt and starter engaged with key off/ removed. remove starter relay from fuse panel under hood and starter stops. key on touch relay to its spot to start truck goes into reverse but when you go to neutral it dies. start tuck using the same procedure but in neutral and I can go to drive but not reverse. drove it 70 miles home but i cant back up.

also having inop radio and dome light issue which im finding is the fuse panel i just havent had time to address this yet.

    any thoughts?

I think I've narrowed the starter issue down to the neutral safety switch. I'm told everything runs through the nss and I'm able to start it by putting the starter relay in and taking it back out when it starts. another big clue to this is that it almost ran me over because I was in a hurry and didn't have it in neutral.
I did pull the fuse block out and the corrosion didn't look too bad I was able to clean it a little and get the other electronics to work. hopefully it'll get me by until I have time to address this issue too.
