So guys, I signed the papers for my 2020 Platinum today, but the truck comes in tomorrow! I just had a question about the warranty that comes with the truck. So she said the truck comes with a 3 year/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty and a 5 year/ 60,000 power train warranty. She gave me the option to add a 7 year/ 100,000 warranty that extends both of the previously mentioned warranties, it costs an extra $40 a month. My question is, is this worth it? I drive about 20,000 miles a year so i'll be through that 100,000 in 5 years. Has anyone had experience either turning this warranty down and regretting it or is it a waste of money and a money-grab by the dealership?

When the dealership started taking about extended warranty I politely advised them they were wasting their time. There is no way I would purchase an extended warranty for a Toyota and damn sure would not be financing it in with my monthly payment.

I've bought 7 new-from-the-dealer Toyotas. Never got an extended 100,000 mile warranty. Never wished I had.

I'm at 55,000 miles on my Tundra and she's running perfect, perfect purrfect.

Extended Service Plan....$40 a month for how long!!!!!,,thats expensive..you have up to 30 months to "decide" you can buy from other dealers for less that (search around here)..unless your financing is 36 months...lol..all about peace of mind if thats for you...but make sure its the toyota platinum.. your bank credit union may have some options... I have experience with my 2011 sienna with bad power side doors...saved me a few times..but Tundras seem to be pretty solid!!!

I passed on the extended warranty. If you really want one, there is a thread somewhere on here about the best place to buy one. Apparently you can purchase the warranty after the vehicle purchase from any dealer. I recall the cost being around $1,000. That sounds a lot cheaper than what you’re being offered...

ETA found the thread. See post #60.
