Over the weekend, a Prius slammed into me at a stoplight going about 40mph. It shoved me into the car in front of me and that one into the car in front of it.

The back end has the most damage (Back bumper, tow package, tailgate, and rear quarter panels) and the front has some as well (bumper, grill, and grill surround).

The estimate comes in at just under 10k.

I buffed out the marks on the grill surround and I’m not really concerned with the small damage on the grill because eventually I will get a custom one. The estimate included new replacement parts for those, so by not actually having those replaced, it gives me more towards off-road bumpers.

Of the 10k estimate, I have about $3500 that I can order bumpers with. I don’t mind adding a grand or so to that, if what I pick is more than $3500.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Addictive Desert Design Stealth Fighter but I wanted to get opinions from those that have these bumpers. Do you like them? Do you wish you would have purchased different ones? Etc? Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar but not as expensive?

Where is the best/least expensive place to buy? Together the front and back bumper will be a little more than $3500, without the light bar. So I’ll have to cover the extra cost for those. What would be your suggestion for lights?

Here’s what hit me, and then pics of the damage it caused (mine looks way better off!)

If you have a '19 Platinum I am sure you have BSM and RCTA. Those will not work with the aftermarket bumpers. Just something to keep in mind.

So far it doesn't appear to have any. Once it goes in, they will get a better look to make sure. My Dad owns a very reputable Body Shop here in town so they will be sure to inspect it good.

I was really surprised that his airbags didn't deploy. Idiot never even hit the brakes. He was probably texting and driving.

It's all good. He admitted fault to the three of us drivers that were affected by it. And there was a witness. He was in a company car and the insurance for it has already mailed my check for the body damage. Now i'll just have to deal with my medical claim part of it.

Ordered my bumpers today. Still need to decide what I’m going to do for lights but at least I’ll have these on the way.

    (Thanks @eccracer104!)

lol. I told you the ones I picked out happened to be some of the more spendy ones out there! That's the story of my life though. :( You could show me five different handbags or five different guns and not knowing the cost, I would be partial to the one that happens to cost the most.

edit to add: I had to block out the price, per request. ;)

That's the story of our life on Tundras.com!

How often do you Offroad? I have heard the ADD front bumper fits tight to front trim pieces, ideally you’d have some gap between for clearance..

Make sure and tell their insurance company you want the depreciated value added in with the damages. If you ever decided to sell the truck it will have a depreciated value because of the accident.

I actually don't care for that look, personally. I think they will look great as they are, especially with my DiamondBack HD cover. Although I was thinking about powder coating just the tow hooks.

Not often. But I will more next year when the weather gets warm again and I start using my CVT RTT. Still need to get (or have made) a rack that I can use along with my DiamondBack HD cover that doesn't require me drilling into it) so I can mount my RTT to it. My Dad owns the body shop that will be installing it and my bro has a '18 Tundra and a Tacoma that is his rock climber and he goes offroading all the time. He'll be the one working on it so I have him modify it if needed.

Not a single thing I dislike about them. You bought from @eccracer104 too! Great guy to deal with ... you’re in great hands.

Oh and glad you weren’t hurt during that accident.

Yeah I’ve worked with him before on other things I’ve bought. Super helpful guy.

Looks like we have the same nerf steps. :)

Did you just do a 40” light bar or did you add lighting to the angled sides as well? I’m debating whether or not to buy 10” bars for those sides. As it is, I’ll be putting in about a grand more that insurance will be covering and if I added those it would be another $600 or so. And I wasn’t prepared to do any mods this month since I just did a big system and hidden custom gun safe a couple weeks ago.

And nope, not hurt seriously. Enough to miss the week of work and I’m in a ton of pain from the whiplash. But no broken bones or anything. Had I been in some little car it would have been way worse.

I did the 40” light bar and I’m on the fence about adding the 10” bars ... just don’t know if I wanna go with white or amber.

Be sure to post some pictures, I look forward to seeing some.

I will for sure. I was really digging the red Rigid Industries Radiance bar but I don’t really want to give them a good reason to pull me over constantly.

So I need to make another decision. And as much as I’d rather get everything all at once so it’s easier to install, I think I’ll skip the 10” for now.

I went with an amber RI radiance bar. Don’t think it will be an issue as long as I’m not running around town with it on.

Agree it would be easier to mount the 40” before mounting your bumper, but honestly the 10” bars will be pretty easy even with the bumper mounted. So easy I’d be alittle afraid someone could steal them. I know Rigid make security mounting nuts so that might be the answer.
