i bought my first Tundra in 2007 and it’s been a great truck it has 380k and looks and runs great.

I recently bought a 2019 Limited and in the seven weeks I’ve had it, I’ve took a rock to the windshield (big chip), took the truck in for some upgrades and someone at the shop swung the door into the lift and put a ding in the door and chipped the paint. Today I’m driving down and old country road and a damn buzzard flew in front of me and busted my grill. WTF!

I needed to vent thank you, but I think I’ll start looking for and aftermarket grill. I wasn’t a huge fan of all the chrome on the limited grill anyways. Can anyone point me towards a good brand of aftermarket grills. Think I’d like a black wire mesh grill I kind of like this one. 98126027-E091-4E74-B706-A70C5C2528AB.jpg

I created a whole venting thread on how I screwed up my tailgate at 700 miles on the Odometer, before my first payment.

I was on my way to a horse appointment years ago. I actually had a buzzard fly out of the woods, bounce off my windshield, and vomit all over my hood. Had my AC on at the time. The smell in the cab was way beyond disgusting. I mean, it was a stench to end all stenches. Had to immediately wash the hood when I got to the appointment. Gotta watch those damn buzzards.

I hit a turkey on day 3 of my 2018 Tundra. That insolent, feathered menace skirted off my hood and slid right up my windshield off into the the ditch. I never discovered if it lived or died. By the grace of God, I had no damage.

Shit happens!! The very same day when I took delivery of my Tundra, on our way home, the wife asked me to stop at our local supermarket to grab some milk. So, I parked in a spot that wasn’t close to the entrance of the supermarket and it had two available parking spots on both side of me. I went in and got what I needed. When I came back out, a shopping cart was wedged up against my passenger side door. Putting a nice dent and scratch on the door.

Took it to the dealership and they had a guy who takes care of stuff like that for me free of charge. A few days later I’m headed to work, while driving on I95, a dump truck with gravel, and or dirt, driving ahead of me, sprayed debris all over the road. My windshield took a direct hit. I look to see if it had cracked or chipped to glass, but didn’t see anything. By the time I got to work, a tiny chip appeared on my windshield, along with a small crack running about 2 inches long.

in the first 6 months of ownership, my truck got scratched, dinged, and abused almost everywhere I go and every time I drove it. Now it’s two years old and could use a touch up. The one good thing about it all, is that in the past 12 months or so, I haven’t gotten anything else happen to it!!

    SHIT HAPPENS:)

Hey! That's it! My gas $$ woes are over. Hitch up a few solid dogs (I would use some huskies) and let 'em have some fun while I call "MUSH!, MUSH!" as I go to work. Oh, wait, I can start the truck and just put it in DRIVE to assist the dogs. I will call it a 'Hybrid AOC' drive. Think it will work...

Sorry I feel your pain, just had a nice chip put into my front fender from the car wash, but you've upped my woes..
You could always upgrade to the TRD pro grill, I think it looks great on my limited and yes chrome must go :)

Chrome on black is cool on white it doesn't do it for me. My interior is black and I like the chrome.

I like chrome touches around high profile areas that may get battered or pelted. People forget that things in the old days were chromed not just for aesthetics, but the steel bumpers and such held up better with chrome because of rocks and stuff. Lot's of gravel roads then. I'm sure the factory would have rather painted them than chrome them.

Got a slight ding in my rear bumper that isn't noticeable unless you get to looking hard like I do. If it was painted it would be different

Lol with my luck it’s possible, I brought up my 2007 tundra because I drove it for 12 yrs and 380k miles and never had a rock chip in the windshield or ever ran into big bird, deer exc. Go figure get a new truck and everyday it’s near misses, or not haha

That's the way is goes, from our experience I would say that some parts of the Tundra can be, shall we say, fragile.....
