Don’t know. All I know is, I couldn’t see over the hood of my 3rd gen going up and over, so I slowed way down. Other guys were doing it a much faster speed. So maybe Spvrtan had just been through that exact combination of tracks days before to scour and memorized which were good to go. Or, I thought maybe, the less obtrusive 2nd gen hood + 40” tires allowed a view over the swells... maybe on approach. I just described it as I did to 1. give props to Sam for remembering the perspective of newbies with stock trucks, and 2. give a heads up to anyone that ventures along this route.

I don’t KNOW much, just sharing my observations, and possible contributing factours to explain why some trucks (and drivers, of course) were more capable.

I wouldn't say my tires nor lift helped much with visibility on those sections. It's moreso being comfortable with your truck's capabilities, driver handling, and offroad experience.

Lol. I’ve been a passenger in the truck of only one driver I’d trust to take me at speed over stuff we can’t see over. And even that guy once got it wrong. Driver mod ~ willingness to total a truck, pretty fine delineation.

I’ve only ridden passenger in other people’s trucks twice. So I don’t have the wealth of knowledge it takes to have an opinion about that.

How big are these whoops that you can’t see the trail beyond the one in front of you when you crest the one before it? Did they grow these whoops with magic whoop beans from the guy that jack bought his bean stock beans from?

For me visibility becomes an issue when you crest a long uphill and aren’t sure what’s beyond that. Everyone slows down for those.

    Except Alex.

I'd describe these as big enough that your truck starts bucking like a bronco by about the third one.

On another note, will you be joining us? I hear you have a pretty BA LT setup.

So visibility is not the main concern at that point. Lol.

Regrettably I will be at a wedding. Well not regrettably. I’m very happy for the couple. But you get what I’m saying.

haha I've gotten it "wrong" more than once. But depends on your definition of "wrong"

Even when I flopped it, I flipped it back over, swapped tires, and was ready to roll in about 30 min. I even finished the trip, another 3 days of hard wheeling.

The thing is, if you're not pushing limits, how do you ever know what the limit is???

But dont do anything wreckless or dangerous. I'm definitely not willing to total The Truck. Its a fine line, but off road hobbies are more fun at the limit.

No lie, that was so much fucking fun! Those whoops were the perfect size and spread for my measly 2.5 mid travel suspension. Aside from the stupid cooler flipping over 40-50 through them was money, even with the camper shell. Oh, I cracked the fiberglass where it mounts on that run

    That was the day.

Speaking of that. Remember the lonely Tacoma by himself that stuffed the front end into a big hole.
