Is anyone else having issues with installing a stereo system(subs, 6 by 9s, 6 1/2s, tweets, deck) to a 2018 tundra platinum? I’ve been told by a couple stereo places that there’s some SOS interface/amp in these models and all the speakers are 2 ohm. If they bypass the Toyota amp it messes a lot of stuff up. Anybody been down this road?

Yes, they are correct. Most replace everything.....replace head unit, add subs, replace amp, swap speakers, and run new wiring many times as well.

If you are keeping the factory head unit, you have to get a DSP - DSR1 or JL Fix. With the JBL entune, it really is best to replace everything at one time

Awesome thanks for all the help everyone! So best case scenario is just get a new aftermarket head unit eh?

Faced with a large install ($3,000) on my 2018 Platinum, I decided to roll the dice on a new speaker box with a 10 inch speaker. It's amazing how much improvement this made for about $200. It uses the stock amp, just swaps the speaker enclosure and subwoofer. Would you consider that option first?
