    I have a slight issue.

I need to know what part this is in the HVAC Assembly and where i can get one. I noticed when i bought the used truck that it barely wanted to switch between Heat to A/C or vise versa. One day I was switching it and head a snap sound. It got stuck on Heat and the knob felt like it was free spinning. I pull the dash and see plastic dust fall out, I knew i had broken something plastic. Turns out there is a little gear plate with two holes for the steel cables that control the heater valve and blender. Now i have to newfangle my heater on and off via opening the hood and turning the valve to open and then I ran my other to my glove box so i can control the blend as well.

This is a huge hastle to me and is very inconvenient. My local toyota guy doesn't even know what it is, he said it's not in the parts list only the whole control unit. I just need the new gear, I've oiled and freed up all 3 steel cables but now I need the gear. I'll post pictures if asked or if I have any.

The part is also creamish tan colored is that helps, it has a kind of twin for the vent door control.

@bmf4069 thank you for replying so fast.

Sadly my local pull apart doesnt have a 1st gen tundra and neither do any of the ones in a 100 mile radius. I think I might just have it 3D printed after i get the ok from toyota to do so. I'll 3D print both gears, spindles and knobs in metal so I wont ever have to worry about breakage again.

www.car-part.com shows a bunch under $50. Can't imagine shipping would be too crazy.

Now I'm confused, why would you wait to get an OK from Toyota to 3D print a homemade part for yourself that they won't sell you...o_O

Yeah, I can’t see any reason why Toyota would give you permission to manufacture something they own. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for Toyota to sell “system” parts, but not individual components.

Agree. Why ask? Besides, lots of companies make replacement parts. I don’t think they ask Toyota if they’d mind. :)

I have an extra hvac assembly because I’m swapping cabs on my Tacoma. I will see if I have one. No promises though.

Just make what you need. If problem solved Yota don't need to know. It's YOUR truck.
