I recently purchased a set of aftermarket wheels and tires. The tires came mounted and balanced on the wheels and new tpms sensors were included. Do I need to know the serial number of each sensor to provide to the dealer so my tpms light can be reset? Or will the dealer be able to read the serial number on each sensor when resetting?

The dealer or any discount tires should have a serial scanner that they scans it and detect your serial number and program it to your truck and that is what they did on my truck when I bought new wheels and tpms.

Thanks. That what I thought. There are no Discount Tires by me so I will be asking several tire shops if they will reset the sensors. Dealer is going to charge $130.

If you get your tires from them they should be able to do it free. Dealer always up charges you, I would find a local tires shop like big O. Good luck man!

I got a rim like my SR5 rim for my spare with TPMS, When I got a new set of tires at Firestone, they were able to add it. Now that the weather is changing, it has caused my light to come on twice.

    Good luck.
