    Hello.
We recently purchased a 2013 Sequoia loaded SR5... It has after market remote start system and forward looking/backup camera system. I don't like after market stuff but this truck is very nice with low mileage so we took a chance... We are coming from a 2018 Tacoma. I had no issue finding the OEM connector for the Tekonsha pig tail in the Tacoma. I got the Tekonsha pigtail for the Sequoia, went under the steering wheel, took the side kick plate cover off to reveal the wires and... no OEM connector. Everything looks factory under there meaning things are taped well and secured with zip ties but... no OEM brake control connector.

Question! Is it possible one of the 2 after market systems (remote start or camera system) could be using the OEM brake controller connector I need for the Tekonsha harness? I have never used after market so I dont know... Thank you for your thoughts.

    Sincerely,
    Rich

I will answer my own question (from antiquity) for the sake of someone who might be searching for their OEM brake controller connector. It is there and no, after market starters and camera systems do not use this connector. It is where they say it is, taped to a harness up and under the drivers side kick panel, by the base of the parking brake pedal. In my case, it was way up there! Couldn't "see" it. Had to feel for it... Mine was taped "behind" the wire harness (towards the fire wall) and covered by said tape. It is there (if you have the tow package) and you will find it.

    Sincerely,
    Rich
