Nothing to do with paint, but get a dirty deeds exhaust and when your feeling low about the paint, gun it, and you’ll fall in love all over again.

I have 2 Tundras. I drive a white 2004 crew cab limited for work. My black truck gets washed and waxed, then gets covered. I dont drive it much.

I wish I would have gotten white or cement. Oh well, I'll just keep working my ass off to keep it clean.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about dirty deeds exhausts, and it’s only about a half hour or so away from me..
I’ve got plans for this truck, but I’ve already dumped close to 6k into it already in a month, so for now I’ll have to be content with the Trd exhaust.
Definitely going to do some performance stuff in the near future.

How does it compare to the dual Trd exhaust?

I went from 2 vehicles to this. I was using a 2016 Tacoma for work and had a 2016 limited 4Runner that just sat and did nothing really. It was paid off and had 18k miles on it, so I threw it into the deal for the Tundra to take a big chunk out of the price. I’m actually thinking of buying a used older Tacoma for work so I don’t beat the Tundra up too quickly.

I think mine sounds pretty good for coming stock on it. It’s got a good little growl to it that’s noticeable and not too loud on the freeway. I’m definitely gonna check out dirty deeds when the time comes.

I would recommend getting the paint corrected then having it ceramic coated.

I currently have two Tundras. One MGM and one Black. My black Tundra gets all the looks. It has a meaner more masculine look. it does take a bit more work to keep it shiny and beautiful, but all that work is very well worth it.

I’m very happy with my black truck.

My wife’s suv is white. We live in South Florida and it literally messes up the finish and sheen of vehicles very easily. It takes more work on our part to keep my wife’s suv clean and shiny, compared to my black Tundra.

We both regretted it that we bought a white vehicle. White color vehicles show dirt much more quickly than black ones. At least in my opinion. I plan on changing the color of my wife’s suv to either MGM, Silver, or Black soon.

Ha Ha Ha. I that case, you should probably get a desert sand or camouflage color vehicle for covert operations. The military firmly believe that those colors blend in best of all the others.:rofl::rofl:

I regret every black car I have ever owned. I don’t have the kind of time or desire it takes to keep a black car looking good. Thus, all my black cars always looked disheveled. Keep
In mind those were small sporty cars that looked amazing when clean and waxed, for the all of 15 minutes before it inevitably rained.

Now the Tundra, that bad boy has an ocean of paint, Cheap, shitty, thin Toyota paint. You have to have a level of dedication bordering on OCD to keep that much thin black paint looking it’s best.

My hats off to the people on this board with that kind of dedication. I’m not that guy and by the sounds of it, neither are you, and that’s ok! It didn’t have to look perfect or be scratch free you to enjoy it.

This was hard for me to accept personally as a “car guy” but I’ll be damned if those kids didn’t beat it into me, or beat me into submission. Either way all I’m saying is, don’t stress. Enjoy your truck and realize it isn’t going to be perfect!

Hi I would highly recommend getting your truck professionally ceramic coated. I was skeptical at first but my buddy did his and recommended me to do mines. I have a white truck easier to take care of but with the ceramic coating I don't regret it one bit. It's expensive but well worth it when the truck is dirty or dusty I just rinsed it off and the water just bead right off. If you have instagram look up dorkieboyz he is located in Long Beach, depending on your paint condition and if it's has a lot of swirl or scratches he can remove all that and sealed it with the ceramic coating. Trust me you won't regret it, only thing you would have to make an appointment with him and set a date to drop off your truck. He would need it the whole day I took mines in at 8am and got it back at 5pm. Pm if you need more info.

My previous 2 trucks were mgm, and for sure it’s the easiest to keep looking clean, and a color you can’t really go wrong with.
But, the black gets all the compliments.
A couple weeks ago I was driving to a customers house, and the road was blocked by like 4 police cars. All the officers were wearing body armor and tactical gear, and had their weapons out including a couple AR’s, because they had just done a felony stop on someone, or a drug bust.
Even with the guy on ground still in the middle of the street, one of the cops walked up to my window and said “man, that’s a really nice truck”.

My wifes 17 4Runner is metallic black. I feel the pain....I can see dirt and water spots a mile away. I think the back window and hatch is the dirtiest part of the whole truck.

Love the look but doubtful I will ever own a black vehicle. Had a dark green accord and a maroon truck in the past, both may have well been black - dirt always made its presence....... :annoyed:

We just do't select black for car colors intentionally. When the thermometer gets up above 100 (that happens a lot here) leaving the vehicle in the Wal Mart parking lot for about an hour, it gets really hot inside. MY wife had to have a black 2014 Camaro (really looked nice freshly cleaned) and she had to keep pot holders in the car for when she came back to the car from work. Plus, I had to was that thing about every 5 days... Not fun. She now drives a white 2019 4Runner Limited....

I would rather have my balls hammered flat than own another black vehicle. I thought I learned my lesson with a black 89 Camaro but I have had a black MX5 for 6 years. Have to wash it every time I drive it.

Last car G37 was black. Had 2 or 3 black cars prior to that and a dark blue Vette. I'm done with black. Bug juice and road grime bakes into the finish and it swirls too easy. White, grey or silver is the only option from now on. I always thought white would show dirt easily, but it really doesn't
