First Truck!

New here,

bought not only my first truck, but my first Toyota last weekend. 2019 Tundra Limited Double Cab in Superwhite. I have been browsing this forum a while before I pulled the trigger on the truck. I've noticed a-lot of the parts vendors talked about on here are located in the US. I live in Canada and was wondering if there is a list of Canadian vendors to buy from? Or if the US vendors ship to Canada?

Loving it so far, but have some ideas for down the road.



Also,

I noticed the bed had a dent in it from the dealer. I haven't had anything in the pan yet. I know in the grand scheme of things it's no big deal as it doesn't affect the truck but in your opinion is it worth mentioning to the dealer?

Welcome! Depends where you are, sometimes it's cheaper or not available in Canada and I send it to a US postal depot. Drive down and pick it up if you're close to the border.

I've used ToyotaPartsDirect, ebay, Amazon, PartsEngine, TDOT performance as local vendors. If it's a decent price, sometimes I just have the US vendor send it to my CDN address, customs charges would be HST if the product is made in USA.

Minor bed dent inside, no worries. you'll probably line it anyway.

Absolutely. For the price you pay on a vehicle you shouldn't be settling. Most dealerships have a go to shop/guy for minor body work, and they get it really cheap. Asking them to remedy it is not a big ask.

Welcome from WI. I would certainly bring the dent to their attention. Even if it's a small dent in an inconspicuous spot, it's still a brand new truck. If nothing else it might be worth some credit towards a spray on liner or future service.

Thanks for the list of vendors. I'm living in northern Manitoba so a drive down to the border is a little out of the question.

The bed was lined from factory, heres a photo of the dent. (I'm aware it's small and not a huge issue - but I didn't put it there and the truck is brand new.. A set of floor mats would make me feel better about it )
