I will say these trucks are definitely not built for this. If you were doing this professionally you'd have to have some kind of 3/4 ton, but for someone like me who's tackling small DIY landscape projects, it seems to hold up just fine.

I will also say that this little dude right here has made my life so much easier when it comes time to unload it.

Ordered from SuperBrightLeds thur and they surprisingly came in today. Changed out all the interior bulbs and anxious to see what they look like later this evening !

Besides a number of threads here and other forums, I also used the nice post from that user below. By the time the bulbs got here, I felt I could do it with my eyes closed. Attached also is a spread sheet I made and a pic of cluster back that killed time while waiting. Most of the bulb choices as always are personal preferences.

I crawled under the truck and had my wife move it up and down. It seems like the noise might be coming from the retainer for the AAL. It might be making contact with the leafs as they flex. I need one of those automotive stethoscopes.

Sometimes a piece of small diameter tubing can do more or less the same thing as a stethoscope. I'd pull the bolt out of the retainer and throw some washers in until both sides are parallel to each other.

@BubbaW ...The souls that preceded you did a good job of listing the bulbs and rudimentary showing their placement, but you, Sir, outdid them all by a grand scale. An excellent post that, no question in my mind, deserves to be a sticky.

I did mine about 6 - 8 weeks ago and find the new color scheme to be both fun and attractive, though both are really subjective. It did get me excited to putz around more, finding other cosmetic things to do to enhance my ride. In fact here is today's program...

It's hard to tell from your photo but you might want to loosen the u-bolts and be sure that your leafs are perfectly parallel/aligned with each other. Might even want to back of the bolt on that retainer and bend the U open. Reassemble with minimal tightness and some thread lock. Also, your leafs appear to be assembled oddly. It almost looks like you have a thin leaf under the main/top leaf. Also, I would check that your u-bolts nuts are tight and torqued properly. I'll take a look at mine in the AM.

Took a gamble on an eBay $80 sub amp combo for under the seat. It doesn’t sound too bad, came with everything except the RCA wires had no male connectors and were cheap so I bought new ones. Ran the RCA, remote, and bass control through the center console and power wire on the drivers side. I’m not looking for performance sound and this was perfect.

"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need".:rockband:

Couple months ago I was going to paint the insides of my wheels blue to add color to my rig. Painted up the calipers and drums a light blue and decided I would paint the insides silver instead, so as to let in more light, or so I though. So today I cleaned up one of the rear wheels, threw on 3 coats primer, then 3 coats of silver before hurrying to remount before dark (sorry no pics). While it was still light enough to see the outcome, I gave the wheel a thorough look and was shocked to see blue emanating from the inside surface of the wheel and not silver. After giving it a double take, I caught on to fate's game. Seems the semi-gloss silver had just enough sheen to reflect the light blue of the drum, giving me that blue I was initially looking for months ago. Fate was a lady tonight, and Trixie is her name.:worthless:...yeah, I know. Tomorrow for sure.

I already re torqued to bottom shock bolt to see if that was the cause. I may retorque the rest today. I need a new torque wrench. I dropped mine at one point and no longer trust it.

I just checked the leafs again. They look normal to me. They are stacked by length. Longest to shortest. Appreciate the help.

As found on this forum and others, my shift lever was inadvertently showing O/D off when going thru gears. Discovered previous owner had added blu tape but it's been on there @ least 10 years when I bought veh. Removed shift lever, blue tape and re-wrapped. We'll see has it goes !

    Previous owners wrap.....

My tip was fatter(hehe) so I just rounded it off all around. Doing just one side wouldn't have worked with mine.

I'm like Sherlock Holmes under this thing trying to find the source. I ruled out that retainer. I unscrewed it until there was no contact and the noise remained.

My neighbors already thought I was weird. Having my wife bounce the truck while I'm under it really drove the point home.

Nah, I ended up paying my shop to do it because they only charged me $150 and it was going to cost me $100 to buy longer jack stands and a cutting tool.

I believe I've found the problem. They left some piece of plastic between the first and 2nd leaf. Why, I have no clue. I don't even know what that might be. It's not like this on the passenger side.

No Idea but one way to get rid of that gap without taking it apart would be put a heat gun up to it and melt it and the metal and weight will force it out.

First thing I would try is prob a flat head screw driver or chissel and hammer to get it out. If that didn't work I would find a way to melt it start with a heat gun then a torch if that didn't work. I know a torch would.

I’m a man that likes his stuff done right. Lol. The bodyshop also knows I have a few more projects in the works they’ll be getting so he tried to make sure it’s wll perfect for me. They’re hopefully getting my 01 Tacoma next. But that’ll be cab off paint under inside and outside.
