Okay so I've been looking for a while before posting and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I've got a 2019 Tundra SR5 CrewMax TRD Sport 4WD and not 100% happy with the way the stock tires (P275/55R20 Bridgestone Dueler Alenza H/L's handle the weight of my camper. The camper weighs about 7000 to 7500 lbs loaded. I don't want to lift or level the truck if I don't have to but was wondering what other sizes other folks have found will work without rubbing or modifications. I'm thinking about LT305/55R20's so that I can move to a 10 ply tire instead of a P-metric. Open to suggestions.

Not sure if this will help, but I would say its safe to rule out 295/60/20s, as I put on a set of Ridge Grapplers with a 2 inch level and had rubbing issues.

Not sure if keeping it at 55 will save you at 305s, but hope this gives some insight for ya!

    275/60 ridge grappler or duratrac?

Or that same size in a D rated. You will not like the “power loss” and mpg drop going too tall/wide while towing 7k.

My question is if you’ve adjusted the air pressure in the tires while towing? Adding some air could help with trailer sway.

Aside from that, the 305/55/20 is very wide and probably wouldn’t fit the 8” wide wheels. If someone was willing to install them on your Oe wheels, I doubt they wouldn’t rub.

To be honest I would go with a 275/65/20 if you really wanted to step up to an E rated tire.
Many on this forum, myself included, run this size. I had no rubbing on stock wheels. When I went to an aftermarket wheel I had to remove the mud flaps because the offset pushed the tires further out and cause rubbing.

BFG however does make a 275/60/20 LT in a D load range. That in my opinion would be your safest bet because it is no wider than stock and only a little bit taller. I don’t think you would see any rubbing issues.

I work in a shop so getting them test fitted isn't an issue at all. As far as sway is concerned its really not bad just looking for a heaver load tire. The stock P275/55R20's are 31.89 in diameter and 11.2 in section width. Guess I'll try to fit the LT275/65R20's and see what I get. Really surprised that tall of a tire fits because that tire is 34.1 in diameter and 11.0 in section width. Any issues with speedometer or anything making that big of a jump ?

Your speedo will definitely be off. About 7%. I would not call it an issue. You just have to remember. Heck around DFW you don't really need one in the hwys these days. Just go with the flow

The tires and wheel section has commonly used sizes and what not, would read through it if you havnt. Regardless of fit or trimming or speedo or whatever else, if you’re towing a 7,000lb trailer with factory gearing, you will regret 34’s...

I have 285/55/20 and pulls 5000 lb boat just fine. I know you can find those in a D. When these wear out I am going with 275/65/20. Not worried about towing but I am 2000 lbs lighter and a whole lot less drag.
